Faculty of Environmental Earth Science at Hokkaido University invites applications for a professor position.
1. Available Position

2. Institution
Section of Integrated Environmental Science, Faculty of Environmental Earth Science. The group within the section
will be assigned with consideration of the applicant’s specialty and background.
3. Education
The successful candidate will be expected to teach at Course in Global Environmental Management, Division of
Environmental Science Development, Graduate School of Environmental Science. This course accepts diversified
enthusiastic students both international and Japanese, providing all curriculums in English. A candidate should be
able to maximize each student’s potential for future engagement in international career such as international
environmental officers, environmental educators, international civil servants, and experts on international

4. Research Field
We are seeking a candidate who will engage in research and education on human-system’s mechanism and its
conservation and remediation, discovery and solution of environmental issues, reduction of environmental load and
establishment of environmental adaptation-type human society, trans-boundary environmental science and/or
conservation, with his/her keywords such as climate change, ecosystem conservation, environmental remediation,
low-carbon society, biogeochemical cycles, and/or sustainability.
5. Qualifications
The applicant must have a doctoral degree and an ability to teach at Course in Global Environmental Management in
English.
