Heuchera hybrids, CORAL BELLS he largest grower of California native plants in the state, Tree of Life Nursery has been located on the historic Rancho Mission Viejo in San Juan Capistrano for over 20 years. Largely a wholesale nursery, the Roundhouse Plant Store is open to the public Fridays year-round and Saturdays in fall and spring. For those interested in learning more, we offer a large selection of books on the California region regarding landscaping and horticulture, natural history, conservation, and more. The nursery’s catalog, “Plants of El Camino Real,” is a beautifully arranged collection of information about the plants we grow, with helpful hints for landscapers and gardeners looking for the right plant for the right place. Come experience Tree of Life for yourself! T HEUCHERA CULTIVARS: H. ‘Blushing Bells’ H. ‘Canyon Belle’ H. ‘Canyon Delight ’ H. ‘Canyon Duet ’ H. ‘Canyon Chimes’ H. ‘Canyon Pink’ H. ‘Dark Delight’ H. ‘Opal’ H. ‘Susana’ H. ‘Wendy’ Plant Profiles oral Bells are compact, evergreen perennials with pretty, rounded leaves with scalloped edges and delicate flowers at the top of long, slender stems rising 1 foot above the foliage. With clumping growth habits, most are under 1 foot high by 1 to 2 feet across. Hybrids are mostly combinations between Heuchera maxima, H. sanguinea and H. splendens. Flowers range in color from white to pink to red and all shades in between from spring to early summer. Plant in full to partial shade or in full sun in coastal locations, and water twice a month. Coral Bells are beautiful in masses under oaks or other established trees, in the front of shady borders, along walks, in small planters and in decorative containers. For a California native hummingbird garden, combine with other favorites like Aquilegia formosa, Epilobium californicum, Galvezia speciosa, Keckiella cordifolia, Ribes speciosum and Salvia spathacea. For a woodland garden, combine with Symphoricarpos, Iris, Sisyrinchium, Fragaria, Leymus, Polystichum and Thalictrum. C visit www.treeoflifenursery.com © 2001 Tree of Life Nursery
