Scramble the letters of each word and give to a friend to complete. Don’t forget to mark it!

Using graph paper, create a word sleuth with all your list words. Don’t forget to use CAPITAL
LETTERS! Give it to a friend to complete.
Sentences
Write a sentence for each list word. Underline the list word. Don’t forget capital letters and full
stops!
Pyramids
Write each word in a pyramids format.

Rainbow words
Trace each list word with 3 different colours to create rainbow words.
Word Building
Look for suffixes or prefixes that you can add to each list word Eg. s, es, ed, ing, ly, est
Walk = walks, walked, walking.
Dictionary meanings
Use the dictionary to find the meaning of each list word.
Syllables
Divide each list word into syllables. Write how many syllables each word has.
Eg. butterfly = but / ter/ fly = 3
Missing letters
Write out your spelling list, but leave 1 letter out from each.
Get a friend to fill in the missing letters.
Eg. d_g = dog
Highlight Vowels
Write out your spelling list. Highlight the vowels in each list word.
Synonyms or antonyms
Try and find a word for each list word that either means the same or the opposite.
Eg. hot = cold
small = tiny
Magazine Cut outs
Using magazines find as many of your list words as you can and cut them out and glue them into a
list.
Small words
Using only the letters in each word, find small words by rearranging letters.
Eg. school = cool, so
