Yoonsung Jung, Ph.D. in Statistics Research Scientist/ Statistician Cooperative Agricultural Research Center [email protected] 2017 Summer Research Experience Program Project Description All science research must provide the justification. Statistics is a significant role to support research justification through statistical summary for data collection, classification, design, analysis, and interpretation. By now most methodologies in research data were for quantitative data, not for qualitative data. Therefore, this project will introduce basic educations and trainings for 1) how to infer the association with key text words which found through text mining, 2) how to visualize the association among the selected main keywords, and 3) how to build and select a best statistical model through regression analysis with quantified-qualitative data transformed from text mining. Finally, 4) each student can attain to the exquisite principle how to provide research justification through statistical minds, analysis, and statistical computer skills.
