Two figures or objects are
congruent if they have
the same shape and size,
or if one is the mirror
image of the other.
These three triangles are
congruent.
‘Poly’ means many, so
a Polygon is a plane
shape with many sides.
Examples are Pentagon,
Hexagon, Heptagon
An n-gon is a polygon
with n sides
An equilateral triangle
is a triangle in which all
three sides are equal.
A quadrilateral is a
polygon with four sides
(or edges) and four
corners. Sometimes,
the term quadrangle is
used,
A diagonal is a line
joining two corners of a
polygon. Informally,
any sloping line is called
diagonal.
To divide into two
equal parts. You can
bisect lines, angles, and
more.
A polygon is Convex if
no line that contains a
side of the polygon
contains a point in the
interior of the polygon.
Concave polygons
"cave-in" to their
interiors, creating at
least one interior angle
greater than 180
degrees (a reflex angle).
Diagonal bracings are
used to make scaffolding
much more stable
The
dividing line is called the
"bisector"
The bottom of a spoon is
Convex in shape
The top of a spoon is

Isosceles
Two angles are
Adjacent when they
have a common side
and a common
corner point and don't
overlap.

Rhombus
Vertices
Trapezium
The points where two
edges meet are the
polygon's vertices
(singular: vertex) or
corners.
The Square Root of an
Integer that does not

number
Parallelogram
Numerical
Expression
All the houses in street are
all Adjacent to each other.
The amount of paint
required to cover the
Exterior of the house is
this many Litres.
.
The required Numerical
Expression needs to be
written as a number
How many Vertices does
a standard cube have ?
√144 is not a Surd as
√144 = 12
An example of a Surd is:
This is a figure that has four
straight lines with the
opposite lines parallel.
Evaluating 24
Gives 2×2×2×2 = 16

Expression for “Two to the
Power of 4”
