 Summary
Our body consists of different organs and the organs work together as a system.
There are different types of body systems such as skeletal, respiratory, muscular,
circulatory, digestive and nervous system.
SKELETAL SYSTEM – gives shape to your body. The skeletal system consist of bone ,
cartilage and ligaments. Bones are organs that support and protect the body, store
minerals and allow movement. Cartilage cushions the ends of bones and forms
flexible parts like your ears and nose. Ligaments connect bone together at joints.
The place where two or more bones meet is a joint there are 3 different types of
joint – ball and socket joint for circular movement, hinge joint for back and forth
movement, pivot joint for side to side movement.
MUSCULAR SYSTEM- helps our body to move. Muscles are tissues attached to the
bone. Your skeletal muscles work in pairs to move your body. Muscle cells can
change their length to help move bones.
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM – the organs in the respiratory system bring in oxygen that
our body needs and release carbon di oxide our body's waste gas.the parts of the
respiratory system include the nose trachea/ windpipe , bronchi, bronchioles and
alveoli. Bronchi bronchioles and alveoli are in the lungs
When you breathe air enters through the mouth or nose and travels through the
trachea. Then it flows through the large tubes called bronchi and the smaller tubes
called bronchioles until it reaches the alveoli. There, oxygen enters the blood and
carbon di oxide enters the alveoli.
The airflows back out through the bronchioles and then through the larger bronchi.
Then it passes through the trachea and finally leaves the body through the mouth or
nose.
CIRCULATORY SYSTEM - is made up of the heart , blood and blood vessels. Heart is
the organ that pumps blood through your body
