Theatre for Life Scholarship
Information Sheet
Award $500
This scholarship is not intended for a Theatre Major, but rather a student who will
incorporate theatre arts in future jobs or community service positions. The applicant
must enroll in college to receive the award money. Only one applicant per active
Thespian troupe may apply.
The following criteria will be used to judge applications:
 Strong sense of responsibility
 Dynamic school/community service
 Clear career aspirations
 Must be an active Thespian Troupe member
Applicant must have the Recommendation Application completed by the Troupe
Director explaining the applicant’s depth of involvement in the school’s Thespian troupe
and his/her altruistic sense of service. Please be aware that you may not compete for
performance/technical scholarships if you are submitting for this scholarship. This
scholarship is only offered to a non-theatre major/minor.
Applicant must attach a TYPED essay to the back of the Recommendation Application
answering the following prompt:
The mission statement of the Arizona Thespians is: To create the leaders of
tomorrow through educational and theatrical experiences, to promote the advocacy of
the performing arts, and to develop strong communities. In 500 words or less, explain
how you plan to employ these goals in your future.
