World History I

Course Description
World History I is a full year course designed to survey history since the beginning
of prehistory-3000 B.C.E. & study the way different cultures evolved. Civilizations like Ancient
China, India, the Middle East & Egypt, Greece & Rome will be emphasized along with Feudalism
& the Byzantine Empire. Current events and 21st C. movements of the world will be interpreted
and analyzed on a regular basis through class presentations and updated information. Significant
attention will be given to analyzing primary documents in relation to Document Based Questions
(DBQ) and essay writing.
