53 BC, the death of Marcus Crassus has put the first triumvirate in shambles. Civil war occurs in Rome. Caesar and the alleged Pompeius Magnus are left to fight for the sole power of Rome. After bloody war Caesar defeats Pompey in the Battle of Pharsalus, and is assassinated when he fleas to Egypt. This is the mark of the reign of Julius Caesar. This is not easy for some to swallow, particularly the senate. Only time can save Caesar from what is to soon occur. The morning of March 15, 44BC Caesar arrives at Pompey’s Theatre where he is to meet his final day. After a plot to take his life is made he faces the enable. His life is ended by the twenty third dagger strike of Marcus Junius Brutus. This ends the reign of Caesar.
