 PROFESSIONAL PROFILE:
An enthusiastic biomedical scientist specialized in molecular and cell biology, who is
willing to enhance and develop technical skills in biomedical science research and
working towards winning a noble prize in future.
 EDUCATIONAL PROFILE:
January 2012 to January 2013

 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE PROJECTS
MSc Project:Gene expression profiling for invasiveness between tumor and placental cells
In this study I have investigated and compared the expressions of invasion specific genes
and transcription factors such as TWIST, PSP etc in normotensive and pre-eclamptic
placentae in comparison with tumour cells. I have extracted RNA from the cancer cell
lines and placental tissues followed by RT- PCR. Finally I have compared the expression of
these factors by qPCR and reported the presence of certain factors like the ALDH3, AURK
A,B, and C, BIRC 6 in placenta for the first time.
BSc Project:Evaluation of anti cancer activity of Strychnos potatorum seed extract.
Description: In this study I evaluated the anti cancer activity of Strychnos potatorum Linn
seed extracts in hela cells. (FAM: Loganiaceae). The Seed extract of Strychnos potatorum
using various solvents were qualitatively analyzed for presence of various classes of
molecules and the anticancer activity was studied in hela cells. MTT assay was used to
measure the cell death with different concentration of the seed extract and it showed dose
dependent killing of cancer cells.
The Impact of Medium of Education On Self - Esteem of Student Population in Chennai.
Description: The purpose of this study was to find out the impact of the medium of
education on self esteem. The study compared the self esteem of students of two different
medium of education. (i.e., English medium students Vs Tamil medium students). The age
group of the subjects ranged from 15 to 17. Each student was asked to answer the
Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem questionnaire. Thousand students took up this test. (500 \
category). The analysis showed that students who use their vocal language as a medium of
education had higher scores of self-esteem scores than students who have a foreign
language as their medium of education.
