LEARNING
Cognition=the act of process or knowing perception
Schema=a diagram or plan
Piaget (psychologist) = was a Swiss philosopher, well known for studying children, also for his theory of
cognitive development. His importance he attached to education of children made him declare his role
as a director of the international bureau of education.
Transfer in psychology= change in learning in one situation due to prior learning in another situation, the
transfer can be positive or negative
Chemical influences in learning =
The TOTE= to carry on someone’s back or someone’s arms, to carry some thing
The TOTE model=leaning and motivation a method of learning
Current approaches to learning= you can learn by seeing, hearing, reflecting and acting, analyzing and
visualizing there are many different ways that you can learn
Emotional influences= you are having thought s where you want to do something but your mind talks
you out of it like you might be tempted to eat a certain food
Evolutionary influences=traits that have been found in humans
Cultural validity= is assessment practices
Bf skinner=invented the operant conditioning chamber, his analysis of human behavior cumulated his
work, he conducted pioneer work, the chamber was to measure organic responses, and their orderly
interactions with the environment
Operant conditioning= the use of consequences to modify the occurrence and form of behavior
