1. GOAL AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The DBA designs, develops, implements and maintains databases by identifying and solving
database requirements and database related problems.
2. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION:

The DBA reports to the Global Data Center and Hosting Services Manager and has no direct
reports.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department
applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing
proposed systems.
● Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities,
database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.
● Is responsible for the creation, implementation and follow up of backups and the
restoration of missing or corrupt data or databases.
● Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts;
recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements and
testing and installing upgrades and patches

● Monitors and Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database
parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating

Minimum requirement:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
● 3 to 5 years experience in an analytical role such as DBA, BI Specialist, Performance Data
Analyst or similar
● Experience with SQL Server, SQL programming and SQL reporting
● Familiar with relational database design
● Experience with SQL Server database administration
● Experience with Microsoft BI application development tools such as SSRS, SSAS and
BIDS
● Experience with troubleshooting database related issues (integrity, performance, blocking,
replication, log shipping, connectivity, security and other issues)
● Experience with patch management software, data backup and recovery software and
common IT hardware and software systems.
9. TRAVEL
Up to 10% domestic and international travel expected for short term assignments
10. WORKLOCATION AND TIMESCHEDULE
Preferred work location is Bangalore, India.
Occasional work outside of normal office hours is required for this role
