Definition of Terminology
It is specialized language that allows
for quick and efficient communication
between members of the same
profession while minimizing the
potential for misunderstandings
• Mathematics: A vector is a quantity that has
both a magnitude and direction
• Aviation: A vector is a course to be taken by
an aircraft.
• Medical: A vector is an agent that transmits a
disease from one organism to another.
• ECG: Electricity Company of Ghana
• ECG: Electrocardiogram means the record of
the electrical activity of the heart.
• ECG: Electrocardiography means the process
of recording the electrical activity of the heart

• The specialized language used by health care
practitioners.
• The vocabulary and ways of stringing together
words in an acceptable and understandable to
every health care professional

recognize and explain word roots, prefixes, and suffixes

well as show comprehension of their definition
