Recent advances in biotechnology and pharmaceutical science accelerate research and development of biomaterials. Advances in polymer technology has yielded a wide range of applications to drug and gene delivery systems, tissue engineering and cell therapies, nanotechnology based imaging and diagnostic systems. In this presentation, our current studies on developing polymeric nanoparticles for cancer imaging and therapy, and fiber-based scaffolds for tissue engineering will be reviewed.
