Short Description
Design of biomaterials based on advances in materials science and engineering,
molecular biology, and health sciences & medicine is emerging as an area of critical
importance.
Goal of this research is to develop a new class of biomaterials – adaptive biomaterials,
which can change dynamically their own characteristics appropriately as they sense
host tissue environment.
Such advances are critical for the success of tissue emerging, drug delivery and stem
cell technologies.
