Autoimmune leukopenia is marked by a reduction of white blood cells
in the bloodstream and can lead to a higher risk of infection, caused by
an autoimmune response. This means that the cause of the leukopenia
is autoimmune, in which your immune system mistakenly targets your
own cells, thereby destroying healthy cells instead of unhealthy and
foreign cells.
