TCA: Tricarboxylic Acid cycle Also known as: Krebs cycle & The Citric Acid Cycle Brief Overview: Glycolysis Brief overview: Glycolysis Pyruvate Dehydrogenase PDH Pyruvate dehydrogenase is the enzyme that converts pyruvate to acetyl-CoA, as well as reduce NAD+ to NADH. Pyruvate is decarboxylated by PDH, releasing a CO2 molecule, and the remaining two-carbon unit (acetate) is combined with CoA to give Acetyl CoA. Rate limiting enzyme, determines the rates of glycolysis, lactate production, and carbohydrate supply for mitochondrial oxidation. Acetyl CoA can also come from Beta Oxidation
