The NAFC and Rx Outreach Partner to Reduce Medication Prices and Increase Access for
the Underserved
Alexandria, VA – The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) is partnering with
Rx Outreach to help reduce the cost of medications for low-income individuals and households. Access
to affordable medications continues to be a major issue facing the medically underserved throughout the
nation.
Despite the generous efforts of those who care and numerous healthcare programs, too many people in
this country still struggle with having to choose between medication and life’s other essentials like food,
shelter and transportation.
Rx Outreach has agreed to expand its Preferred Clinic Program to include more NAFC members. As a
Preferred Clinic, NAFC members can benefit from reduced pricing on a new NAFC / Rx Outreach
formulary, monthly prescription billing, access to the Rx Outreach “Clinic Portal”, and more at no extra
cost to the clinic or patient.
“As a non-profit, mail-order pharmacy, our prices on these medications are already low and our mission
will keep them that way,” says Darryl Munden, President of Rx Outreach. “It’s why we were founded.
It’s what we strive to insure every day. Partnering with NAFC to reduce our prices even further is another
example of our mission at work. We provide access to affordable medication for people in need and look
forward to helping to change more lives.”
NAFC Chief Executive Officer Nicole Lamoureux said, “Rx Outreach’s continued and proactive
commitment to the NAFC, our clinics and those we serve is truly appreciated. Saving money on
medications is important to our members and is critical to the health of our patients. We’re excited to
have helped create this opportunity and encourage our members to take advantage of it.”
