History of ask.fm

Founded in Ireland in 2010, by Llja and Mark Terebin.

Eventually being bought by the US company Ask.com, in
2014.

It’s still continuing to grow with new facilities in Riga,
Latvia, and California.

While maintaining it’s 120 million registered users.
What is ask.fm

A social network with the premise of asking questions,
to interact.

Which is popular with a demographic of 42% of users
who are under the age of 17.

It can be linked with a Facebook, Twitter, Google +, or
Instagram account. To invite friends to ask.fm or allow
for friends to ask you questions through their preferred
social network.
How ask.fm works

Create a account.

Link with Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and/or Instagram
to find friends and interact with friends on those sites.

Start asking questions on anything, either on a
computer or smartphone.

Questions can be asked anonymously or with a personal
tag.
Social Media Aspect

Ask.fm is a social network with the idea, getting to
know people with questions.

You can ask a question to a random stranger or your
closest friend.

Linking of social networks makes it easier to grow your
social circle.
How ask.fm is unique

It’s unique in that its main purpose is get people
interacting with one another, directly through a
question format.

Which encourages users to ask questions and really get
to know people they met.
Potential Social Marketing

There are already some advertisements on the tops of
the pages and there is room for increased advertising.

Also there is sponsored questions, used for research.
