Explain, using 1‐2 complete sentences (formal writing), the process of
photosynthesis
. Use the terms:
photosynthesis, carbon dioxide, water, sunlight, oxygen, glucose/sugar
. During the process of photosynthesis the chloroplasts inside leaves collect sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. The plants converts these things into molecules of glucose/sugar and oxygen
. Explain, using 1‐2 complete sentences (formal writing), the process of
cellular respiration
. Use the terms:
cellular respiration, carbon dioxide, water, energy, oxygen, glucose/sugar
. During cellular respiration the mitochondria in cells collect glucose/sugar and oxygen. Those molecules are converted into carbon dioxide and water and releases energy
. What do the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration do to the molecules and atoms involved? Break the molecules apart and rearrange them into different molecules/substances
. What happens to the matter (# of total atoms involved) during photosynthesis and cellular respiration? The matter (# of total atoms) stays the same (so do the elements)
