The Culture of Classical Greece
• Explain the roles played by the following as they pertain to
Greek religion: Olympus, rituals, festivals and oracles.
• What are Greek tragedies? Explain how Euripides changed
Athenian drama.
• What was the goal of education according to Socrates? Explain
the method he used to teach. Explain the events leading to the
death of Socrates.
• According to Plato what were the three basic groups of an ideal
society?
• Aristotle favored living by the “golden mean” or finding a
midpoint between extreme behaviors. An example of this is
courage is the midpoint between reckless behavior and
cowardice. Create your own “law” to live by the golden mean.
