See if you can answer these questions based on what you experienced today:
What are 3 uses of electromagnets?
Rollercoaster Brakes, Resistance on exercise bikes, Fire doors, Junkyards
Which is more powerful: permanent magnets or electromagnets?
The most powerful magnets in the world are electromagnets.
When electricity flows through a wire, it always creates a _weak__ magnetic field.
How does wrapping the wire around the nail strengthen the magnetic field?
It lines up the weak magnetic fields.
What could you do to make your electromagnet even stronger than it is now?
Wrap the wire more neatly. Use a longer wire so that it has more wraps. Increase the
electricity flowing through the wires (like put 2 batteries in series).
How can you change the polarity of your electromagnet?
Switch which ends of the wire is connected to each end of the battery.
How does Colossians 1:16 relate to our science experience?
Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on
earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or
principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for
Him.
Magnetism is one of the invisible forces that God created.
Also check out this verse:
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor
principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor
height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Imagine that you had the supplies to build a super strong electromagnet. Draw a
picture of what you would do with it.
No wrong answers here. I hope they had fun dreaming big on this one.
Draw a picture of the electromagnet and label the parts.
The picture should include: a wire, a nail, and a battery. They may have
also included the battery holder.
The wire should be coiled around the nail.

on the topic and there will be a post about today's activities.
