The sample of the present study consisted of thirty-five cases, (11 males and 24 females, of which 19 were Angle Class I, 14 Class II and 2 Class III). These cases were selected from the records of 137 patients treated in the Orthodontics division - College of Dentistry, King Saud University. Complete pre- and post-treatment records (models) were studied. The PAR index was applied to assess the changes that occurred in the dental models. Result showed a mean reduction in weighted PAR index percentage of 87.2%. It was concluded that the PAR index is valid and reliable and a high standard orthodontic treatment was achieved with great improvement in the alignment and occlusion of the upper and lower arches.
