The Present Perfect
Tense (1)
The present perfect tense is used to tell about something that
happened at an unspecified time in the past. To form the present
perfect, use have or has with the past participle of the main verb.
Look at these examples with eat.

Present perfect (unspecified time):
I have eaten there twice.
Past (specified time):
I ate there last night.
Use have/has and the past participle (see Data Bank) to complete these sentences.

past participles students can fill in without referring to pages 113–114. Then have them use these pages to complete the others.
