Macbeth’s Downfall: Fate or Free Will?
One of the reasons Macbeth remains one of the most popular Shakespearian Tragedies, is the mental
warfare unleashed on the protagonist, Macbeth. As you read, it is interesting to think about which holds
more power: Macbeth’s decisions or the fate of the Witches’ prophecies
Please provide a well thought-out, well written response to the prompt below. Refer to specific
ideas/examples/scenarios from the text to support your answer. Be sure to cover ALL aspects of the

The three witches told Macbeth his fate. Did the events in Macbeth’s life occur because of the
