Macbeth
Macbeth is a brave, courageous and truly dedicated warrior who is willing
to risk his life for the adrenalin rush of battle. On an adventure around
the kingdom, he came across 3 eccentric witches that were in the process
of brewing a potion in a flaming cauldron. They advised Macbeth that the
king is keeping him away from the kingdom to avoid him overthrowing his
reign and keeping him away from fulfilling his potential. Immediately
Macbeth was enraged and prepared a plot to destroy the king and make
him ruler of the kingdom. After much planning with his equally ambitious
wife, he approached the king with a dagger and took his life in a brutal
stabbing (Is this a dagger I see?). Macbeth becomes leader (All hail
Macbeth, that shall be king hereafter.) But the witches betray him and
take away the same thing he took from the king.

part of his attitude.

• Strengths – ambitious, brave, strong
This drama is one of the great tragedy themed plays by William
Shakespeare. The themes illustrated in the play include ambition, fate,
deception and treachery. Three witches decide to confront the Scottish
general, Macbeth, on his victorious return from a conflict between
Scotland and Norway. The Scottish King, Duncan, decides that he will
confer the title of the traitorous Cawdor on the heroic Macbeth.
Macbeth and his fellow general, Banquo, happen upon these three witches.
The witches predict that one day Macbeth will become king. Overcome
with greed, Macbeth decides that he will assassinate the king and his
wife, Lady Macbeth, backs up his plan. After a brutal stabbing, Duncan’s
life was taken from him. Lady Macbeth smears the blood of Duncan on
the sleeping guards daggers. A nobleman called Macduff discovers the
body and Macbeth kills the guards and immediately informs him that he
had done so when he found that the blood found on their daggers was the
same as Duncan’s. After investigation, the crown is given to Macbeth.
Numerous murders ensue and the bloodied ghost of Banquo (victim of the
various murders) appears to Macbeth. Lay Macbeth’s conscience now
begins to torture her and she hallucinates blood on her hands often. To
end the trepidation, she takes away her own life. Macduff kills Macbeth
and becomes king.
Our group covered various concepts of Shakespeare’s Macbeth but the
story was not equivalent to ours. Although some parts were included in
our plot such as the death of a king and three witches causing deception
but our overall story only resembled the original by about 40%.
“All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!” is quoted by the
third of the three witches when confronting Macbeth. This quote means
“All hail, Macbeth, the king hereafter!” and refers to how the witches
inform Macbeth that he is to be king.
“Fair and noble hostess, we are your guests tonight,” is quoted by King
Duncan. This quote means literally that the king and his wife are guests
to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth and refers to how Duncan wishes to see
Macbeth to congratulate and thank him for his effort in the conflict.
“Is this a dagger I see before me?” is quoted by the man himself,
Macbeth. This quote means, “Is this a dagger I see in front of me?” It
refers to how Macbeth hallucinates seeing a dagger due to the murder he
is about to complete.
