Course Details:
This one day course is an opportunity for practitioners to further their understanding of
working in teams. The course explores different ways to communicate effectively and
the importance of clear communication.

List a range of qualities of a playworker
Identify the importance of being a team member
Identify which job roles are whose responsibilities
Examine ones own skills, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
List skills needed by a reflective practitioner
Discuss the importance of questionnaires, peer observation and appraisals
Discuss the key factors of consulting with children and young people
Explain what effective communication is
Determine whether we are effective listeners
List four types of human behaviour that may affect communication
Reframing negative statements in a more positive way
Identify bad practice within a team
