Combining Sentences
*All examples obtained from 2010-2011 honors research papers.
Strive to write longer, more complex sentences rather than short, choppy or repetitive
sentences. You should not begin a new sentence with the last word(s) of the previous
sentence when you could use an appositive instead.
EXAMPLE:
Some musicians say Louis Armstrong invented scat singing. Scat singing is where
the artist makes sounds to create a rhythm without using any words.
