Helen of Troy BY: PAIGE FOSTER 5 Facts about Helen: Greek name: Helene Named her as the most beautiful woman of Greece. Daughter of Zeus. Helen fled to Troy with Paris. When Helen was only 12, the Greek hero Theseus kidnapped her and planned to make her his wife. 3 Facts about Athena: Also referred to as Athene. Goddess of Wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skills. Zeus’s favorite child. 3 Facts about Aphrodite: Goddess of fertility, love, and beauty. Stories say how Aphrodite was born: Aphrodite rose from the foam of the sea. Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus. 3 Facts about Hera: Hera was Queen of the Olympian gods. Wife and sister of Zeus. She was the protector of women, over marriage and birth. 3 Facts about Poseidon: Poseidon was most notably the God of the sea and the protector of all waters. Sailors relied on upon him for safe passage. Zeus and Hades were his brothers. 3 Facts about Zeus: Zeus became the ruler of heaven and earth. Hades and Poseidon were his brothers. Wife was Hera also his sister. Trojan Horse: A hollow wooden statue of a horse that the Greeks concealed themselves in order to enter Troy. Trojan War: The Bronze Age conflict between the kingdoms of Troy and Mycenaean Greece. Agamemnon & Menelaus: They were brothers, they took refuge with Tyndareus, king of Sparta. Hector and Paris They are brothers. Hector was a Trojan prince and the greatest fighter for Troy in the Trojan war. Paris refused to have war. Hector did everything to protect Paris.
