Spelling Activities Page Monday: Fold your paper three times. Write each spelling word three times with your right hand and then three more times with your left hand. OR Make word triangles of each spelling word. Tuesday: Using your spelling words as the lines in a drawing, “draw” a scene on a blank sheet of paper. Write each spelling word five times as you complete your picture. OR Write each word 10 times in columns. OR Draw a big scribble, leaving big spaces. Use colored pencils fill in the spaces with your spelling words. Wednesday: Using different color pen or markers, write each spelling word as a complete word, but write each syllable in the word in a different color. For example, the “mythical” might have myth written in red, i written in blue, and cal written in orange. OR Fold your paper into three columns. In the center column write all of the spelling words. Now you must change or add the prefix or suffix. In the left hand column, add/change prefixes to the spelling words, in the right hand column add/change suffixes to the words. OR Fold your paper in half and then fold it in half again. You will now have four columns. Write noun at the top of the first column, verb on the second, adjective on the third, and adverb on the fourth. Write each of your spelling words in the correct column and then change the word to a different part of speech and write it in the proper column. For example: The spelling word ‘different’ would be written in the adjective column; then write ‘differently’ in the adverb column or ‘difference’ in the noun column. Thursday: Write each misspelled word 10x. Words need to be written on the pretest paper. *******************STUDY****************STUDY*********************** If you get 100% on spelling tests two weeks in a row, you are excused from all spelling assignments (except Wednesday’s nights) the following week.
