UT Arlington Student E-mail Account
All students at UT Arlington are automatically given a UT Arlington e-mail account. The
University Advising Center thinks it is very important that you frequently check your UT
Arlington e-mail account. This is the e-mail account that the university will use to send vital
information to you. The Advising Center will send important updates and reminders via this e-mail
address to all Undeclared students throughout the semester.
Accessing your UTA student e-mail account
1. For new students, go to http://www.uta.edu/email 24 hours after you have registered.
Click on the box that says “Select Email Address”. You will choose your username from a
list of predetermined options. Your social security number will no longer be included as
part of your username.
2. A security entry box will pop up. Your username will be your Student ID number (which is
either your social security number or your new UT Arlington id number) and your password
will be the same one you use to register on MyMav. If you cannot remember your
password, the Help Desk (817-272-2208) can reset it for you. They are located on the
first floor of the Library.
Your new email address will be your username followed by @mavs.uta.edu. For example, if your
username is john.doe, your e-mail address would be [email protected].
Checking your UTA student e-mail account
Go to http://www.uta.edu/email to log in to your UT Arlington e-mail account. You are expected
to check your MavMail at least once a week. As messages become more targeted, it may be
necessary to check it more frequently. Students are also expected to manage their “inbox” so
that it does not become full, causing messages to be returned as undeliverable.
