an original one-act opera
Frigga loves her son Balder and
wants him to grow up safe and
happy, but when his destiny is
revealed to her, she vows to do
anything she can to change how
his story ends. Despite her efforts
to protect him, when it comes time
for his thirteenth birthday, she
still worries that as he comes of
age, she won’t be able to shelter
him any longer. And Loki the
trickster has a plan to teach
Frigga the lesson she needs to
learn.

Inspired by Norse mythology and incorporating stories and characters from
Native American, Hindu, Jewish, and classical Greek traditions, this brand-new
operetta written especially for the Creative Arts ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington will give you faith that no matter how long and dark
the winter nights, spring will come and hope will rise.
