Spelling Menu Please choose two activities from the menu. All Spelling homework is due on Friday! Have fun! 1. Type your words twice on a computer. Print it. 2. Write your words in ABC order. 3. Write a story that makes sense using all of your words. 4. Print your words neatly 5 times each. 5. Write sentences using each word. 6. Draw and color a nice picture. Hide your words within the picture. 7. Look your words up in the dictionary. Write down the definitions. 8. Write your words neatly in cursive 5 times each. 9. Cut your words out of magazines and make a collage. 10. Make a word search on www.puzzlemaker.com using your words. Print it out and solve it the next day! 11. Write a poem using all of your words. 12. Scramble your words. Unscramble them the next day! 13. Have an adult at home give you a practice test. 14. Write synonyms and antonyms for all of your words. 15. Make a set of flash cards to practice with every night. 16. Write your words in backwards ABC order. 17. Write each of your words using three colors to make Rainbow Words. 18. Write your words forwards, then backwards. 19. Ransom words – Cut out the letters in your words out of a magazine or newspaper and glue them on a piece of paper to form each word. 20. Use an old magazine or newspaper and find your word. Cut the whole word out and glue it on a piece of paper. 21. Write a TV commercial using all of the words from your list. 22. Secret Agent Words – Number the alphabet 1 to 26, then convert your words to a number code. 23. Write the entire list end-to-end as one long word, using different colors of crayon or ink for different words. 24. Triangle words: (Ex. Apple) a ap app appl apple 25. www.spellingcity.com - Print out a “printable” activity. 26. Write each spelling words and draw a picture to go with each one. The picture must show what each word means. 27. Write the spelling words using lower case letters for vowels and upper case letters for consonants. 28. How much is each spelling word worth? (a=1, b=2, c=c, d=4, etc.) 29. Look each word up in the dictionary. Write the guide words or page number for each one. 30. Find a word that rhymes with each spelling word. 31. Create a crossword puzzle using all of your words. 32. Create a newspaper headline for each spelling word. (Look at a newspaper for ideas.)
