Name_________________________ Greek Mythology Project You will be researching a Greek Mythology character (god, goddess, hero, monster) of your choice. Many of the characters that we have read about have done some naughty things, so you will be QuickTime™ and a making a WANTED POSTER for a character of your choice. The TIFF (Uncompressed) decompressor are needed to see this picture. poster will include facts and information that will help the authorities locate the character so they can be brought to justice! You will be presenting your poster to the class. At the end our class will be putting on a Wax Museum to present our characters. In order to complete the project, you will need to do some research by reading various myths. We do some of the work in class, and you will do some of the work at home. You will start by choosing a character. Using the graphic organizers and guiding questions I’ve attached, you will gather research about your character. Then, you will create a “Wanted” Poster displaying all of the information you collected. Your “Wanted” poster should be colorful, creative, and neat. Please use the attached checklist and criteria for success as a guide to design your poster. Your poster should be completed by Monday, February 13th! Finally, you will dress as your character and come to school on Wednesday, February 15th wearing your costume. The whole third grade will be putting on a Greek Mythology Wax Museum. More information will be sent home on how to choose materials for your costume. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Greek Mythology Character Approval: Character: ________________________ Teacher Signature: ________________________ Date: ________________________ Suggestions: Some Greek Mythology Characters Gods: Apollo - god of light and sun Ares - god of war Dionysus - god of the grape harvest Hermes - god of transitions and boundaries Hephaestus - god of fire Poseidon - god of the sea Zeus - god of the sky, king of the gods Asclepius - god of medicine and healing Hestia - god of the town and the family hearth Persephone - daughter of Zeus, queen of the Underworld Hades - ruler of the Underworld and ghosts of the dead Goddesses: Aphrodite - goddess of love and beauty Athena - goddess of wisdom and crafts Artemis - goddess of the hunt and the moon Demeter - goddess of agriculture Hera - goddess of marriage, queen of heaven Heroes: Achilles Heracles Odysseus Perseus Theseus Monsters/Creature: The Sphinx The Cyclops The Chimera The Empusa The Hydra Cerberus The Minotaur Medusa Centaur *If you are interested in a character from Greek mythology who is not on this list, check with your teacher and we can work it out.
