Lesson Plans Week of 10/30/06 Earth and Space Science Hurm Hon Accel Objectives Monday Identify and analyze the findings of several space instruments in regard to the extent and composition of the solar system and universe. Explain the “red-shift.” Compare absolute versus apparent star magnitude and their relation to stellar distance. Describe the structure and life-cycle of stars. Describe sun as a star type. Identify gravity as the force that governs the rest of the movement of the solar system and the universe. Various reading and mathematics assessment anchors. Objectives STANDARDS POSSIBLY COVERED DURING THE WEEK: 3.3.10.; 3.2.10.; 3.2.7.; 3.2.4.; 3.4.7.; 3.4.4.; 3.4.12;. and a variety of 8th and 11th grade assessment anchors.
