INTRODUCTION
A succession plan refers to the process of building a long-term future for the club. It enables any new people to take on roles without having to start from scratch again.
When someone leaves a club, a succession plan ensures that all the club information doesn’t leave with them. Succession planning is as much about documenting
procedures as it is about identifying potential leaders within the club who are prepared to take on the leadership positions. Clubs who can plan towards smooth transitions
of leadership positions are less likely to experience disruptions to their day-to-day operations, and as a result are better positioned to replace volunteers who leave the club.
