Hervé Désarbre (Roanne, 1957) studied piano in the classes of Madeleine David. He was a student of the organist and composer Aloÿs Claussmann. Then he worked with André Chometon who taught at the National School of Music in. Later he joined the class of organ master André Fleury at Schola Cantorum in Paris. He was appointed as organist of Saint Louis de Roanne Church in 1975 and as titular organist of the historic organ in Renaison in 1982. He founded an association for the restoration and rehabilitation of organs in the Roanne region in 1974, which he presided until 1985. In 1993 he was appointed as organist of the historic organ of Notre-Dame du Val-de-Grâce in Paris, and then as organist of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of France in 2005. Hervé Désarbre has taken part in several radio and television shows. He has played as a soloist with a number of French choirs, ensembles and orchestras (Val-de-Marne Orchestra, Stringendo Orchestral Ensemble, Garde Républicaine Orchestra, Radio France Brass Quintet, the choir of the Orchestre de Paris, the Maîtrise of the Lyon Cathedral, Groupe Vocal de France...) under Jean Thorel, Roger Boutry, Jean-Jacques Werner, John Poole, Arthur Oldham, Czeslaw Grabowski and others. He has performed works by François Vercken, Guy Morançon, Louis Saguer, André Fleury, Pascal Duc, Youri Kasparov, Alexandre Chtchetinsky, Dimitri Yanov-Yanovsky, Max Pinchard, Julien Bret, some of which were dedicated to him. Désarbre has given many French first auditions of works by composers such as Kokkonen, Wessmann, Bolt... He has presented concerts in Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Ukrainia, Italia, Uzbekistan, Belgium and Russia. In May 1999 he was invited by Irina Chostakovitch to give a concert in memory of Dimitri Chostakovitch in Moscow. He has recorded music pieces by Chostakovitch, Tichtchenko, Vercken, Satie, Claussmann, Mendelssohn etc. for EMI, Chant du Monde, Mandala, Sony, Pavane Records and De Plein Vent.
