AP World History 3d Quarter Project 2008: Create a DBQ Students will be assigned a topic from the list below. Using this topic, students will develop a DBQ essay prompt and DBQ essay question. The essay question and prompt will follow exactly the AP World History format. You will have to include at least 5 and not more than 10 document excerpts for your DBQ question. Document excerpts can be relevant quotations, maps, textbook entries, histories, statistical charts, photos, paintings (or other relevant art) cartoons, etc. Preferably, you will provide a mix of different document types. Text documents should be short, not more than a paragraph or two. With each document, you must also identify the source, the time and/or date that the document was produced, and/or the time or date to which the document refers. You will be assigned a topic by printing this document out, picking a document from the list (underline or circle), plus two alternates, and submitting it to me (with your name on it) in class. First come, first served. Deadline to choose a topic is February 1. After that you automatically get a zero for the assignment. After putting together your DBQ with the documents, you will also provide a sample answer. This answer should follow the AP World History rubric, be typed, single spaced in a 12 font. The answer should not exceed two pages. All pages will then be stapled together, with the DBQ Question at the beginning, followed by your documents, and finally your suggested DBQ Answer. You will be graded both on the quality of your DBQ prompt, documents, and answer. This project will count 30 Assessment Points.
