KOPAONIK SCHOOL OF NATURAL LAW

is pleased to announce across the legal profession and the general academic and professional community
CALL FOR PAPERS
for the 30th meeting of the Kopaonik School, to be held between the 13th and 17th December 2017, addressing the
permanent theme of “Justice and Law”.
The conference this year will explore the general theme of
JUST LAW AND REALITY
Within this general theme and in line with The Hexagon of the Kopaonik School of Natural Law, the applicants
are invited to choose among the areas listed below, selecting a topic of their own choice. The topic, thus selected, is
explored from the aspect of one or several legal disciplines, and in particular from the aspect of the Preliminary Draft of
the Civil Code of the Republic of Serbia prepared for the public debate with alternative proposals.
Priority in selecting papers for publication will be given to the authors who presented their papers directly at the
meetings of the Kopaonik School in the past years. The Editorial Board will decide about the acceptance and publication
of papers. The number of papers meeting scientific requirements and the manner of their publication will be determined
depending on the financial circumstances.
The papers which meet the required standards will be published as appropriate, depending on the
financial circumstances.
Paper submission requirements for consideration by the Editorial Board:
Length of paper: not exceeding 16 pages
Font: Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1,5.
Abstract: in English or another world language, submitted at the end of the paper, on half a page, not exceeding
14 lines, with the same font and line spacing as the paper.
Footnotes: at the end of the text, font Times New Roman, size 10, single line spacing
The paper must indicate the full name of the author, the professional title and occupation, full address and
contact telephone, fax, and/or e-mail.
The closing date for submissions is: 25 August 2017, and for international applicants 25 September 2017. Early
submissions will be most gratefully received.
Manner of submission: papers should be sent by e-mail to [email protected] or submitted in hard copy to the
Association of Jurists of Serbia, 74 Krunska Street, 11000 Belgrade, tel.: +381 11 244-6910, fax.: + 381 11 244-3024.
A paper failing to meet any of the above requirements will not be considered.
The areas in which papers are invited form the traditional Hexagon of the Kopaonik School:

Right to Life (Life, Health, Ecology, Sports).
II
Right to Freedom (Freedom of Thought and Expression, Freedom of Personality, Freedom of Movement,
Freedom of Religion, Protection of Personality under Criminal Law and Procedural Law; Protection of
Freedom under Administrative Law).
III Right to Property (Property, Codification, Property and Other Property Rights, Property and Inheritance,
Restitution, Privatisation, Tax and Taxation Policy, Real Estate, Contract and Tort Liability, Companies,
Commercial Contracts, Banks and Banking, Insurance, Labour Relations).
IV Right to Intellectual Creation (Copyright, Industrial Property Right, Right to Take Part in Cultural Life).
V
Right to Justice (General Concept, Court in Connexity with Justice, Independence of Judiciary,
Constitutional Judiciary, Court Practice and Role of Courts, International and Domestic Arbitration,
International Relations and Justice, EU Law, Legal Protection of Refugees and Displaced Persons).

Right to a State Ruled by Law (Rule of Law in Theory, Issues of Constitutional Law, Rule of Law and
Lack of Rule of Law in Practice)
