Who Was the Creator of the heavens and the earth?
All things were Created by Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
God the Father and the Holy Spirit (Gen 1:2) were
present at creation (let us make man in our image, v 26),
but it is important to acknowledge the Son, before He
became man, as Creator . See also Col. 1:15, 16
What did God create on the first day?
How long was a creation day?
Evening and Morning (Darkness and Light) means one
24 hour day.
What did God create on days two through six?
How long did it take God to create everything?
What did God do on the Seventh day?
God did not rest because he was tired but he rested in his
finished work, much like an artist rests when he puts
down his brush and enjoys the work he has created.
How did the Psalmist view the time it took for Creation?
He Spoke and commanded and it happened. Instantly.
The Bible warns against false science, such as evolution.
Many things in nature contradict evolution, but nothing
about earth or nature contradicts the creation story.
Many deliberately forget the flood and creation story
because they realize that if God destroyed the world by
flood He will again destroy it by fire. He destroyed the
ungodly, those who disobey Him. If we accept Him as
Our Creator, we have an obligation to obey him.
We are seeing the results of the denial of God as Creator
in our society today.
God has an answer to evolution. Every nation and
person will have invitation to worship God, the creator
of the heavens and the earth, before the end.

Notice the Spiritual parallels between creation and salvation. The earth was
without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep. Then God’s
Spirit moved over the waters and after he first created light, he daily brought
order and beauty from the chaos.
Likewise, we are born in the darkness of sin, but as the light of Jesus pierces
through the darkness, through the power of the Creator, we are born again. From
the waters of baptism, God gradually brings order out of chaos in our own lives
as we daily strive to grow more and more into the image of God, our Creator and
Saviour.

Where did sin originate? Who is the Dragon, and where
was he cast down to?
Why was he cast out of heaven?
The throne is the seat of government, and the heart of
government is it's law. Lucifer challenged God's law.
Sin is breaking God's law.
God's ways are love and his laws are love.
The first four of the ten commandments reflect on our
love for God; Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.
Thou shall not worship idols. Not take the name of the
Lord in vain, remember the Sabbath day.
The last six reflect on our love for fellow man:
Honor your father and mother; not to murder, commit
adultery, steal, lie or covet.
Man's ways always seem right even when he is wrong.
Human reasoning is not capable of determining God's
ways of love. .
God is a God of Love and true love involves choice. He
put the tree in the garden in order to give them a choice
as to love and trust him or to go their own way.
Satan tempted the woman to become like God. To use
her own knowledge to determine good from evil instead
of trusting God's ways of love. When she ate the fruit,
she was simply showing that she did not trust God.
The penalty for choosing to reject God is death. Not
because God wants anyone to die, but because if He ever
hopes to have peace and harmony in the universe again
he must remove sin, and since man has the choice to sin,
if he chooses to sin, he must die.
But God gave Adam and Eve another chance. He
promised them that one would come who would be
victorious over Satan, and eventually crush him. This is
the first prophecy or promise in the Bible. The seed of
the woman was to be Jesus Christ.
The book of Revelation is the final grand climax of the
battle between Christ and Satan. Satan makes his last
attempt to destroy the last of the seed of the woman,
Those who are faithful to God's laws of love.
Don't you want to be among those who are faithful to
God's laws of love?

1. Have you come to the place in your spiritual life
where if you were to die right now you would know for
certain that you would have eternal life?
2. Suppose that you were to die tonight and when you
meet God, if He were to ask, "Why should you have
eternal life in Heaven?" What would you say?
We can have the assurance of eternal Life in heaven.
Eternal Life is a free gift. We can't earn it by obedience.
All have sinned
We all deserve to die.
God doesn’t want us to die. He wants everyone to live.
So He sent His son to save us.
Jesus was really God, who became man for us.
He presented Jesus to be a sacrifice for us to die in our
place so he can save us and still be a just God.
What really happened on the cross?
Jesus was made to be sin for us. So that when he died,
he was actually guilty for our sins. He didn't ever sin,
but God took our guilt from us and placed it on Christ.
Then God gives us the perfect life that Christ lived. This
is our fitness for heaven. If we receive the free gift of
Christ's perfect life and the forgiveness for our sins, we
can know that we have life.
How can I know that He really did this for me?
All we need to do is invite Jesus into our lives, and if we
have Jesus, we have Eternal Life.
Asking Jesus into your life is more that simply saying the
words. We must invite him in as Lord and Master as
well as Savior. We must be willing to be obedient to
him. Not that our obedience saves us but when he saves
us he gives us a new life and a new desire to be in
harmony with God's ways of love.
We become a new person
He forgives our sins
We become sons and daughters of God
Do you see what Jesus left heaven and died on the cross
to do for you?
Do you want to open the door and let Jesus into your life
right now?

Immediately after Adam and Eve plunged the world into
sin, God promised a descendent to crush the head of the
serpent.
God repeated the promise to Abraham saying all nations
of the earth will be blessed through him and adding that
his descendants would possess the land of Cannan.
Abraham and Sarah felt they were too old to have a
child, so he took the maid Hagar, she conceived and bore
a son named Ishmael.
God said the covenant would not be fulfilled through
Ishmael but Sarah would have a son, Isaac and it will be
filled through him. Why did God exclude Ishmael and
include only Isaac?
Isaac Married Rebecca (24:67) and gave birth to twins,
Esau and Jacob . God's promise was to be fulfilled to
Jacob and not Esau. The fact that God excluded Esau
and Ishmael and choose Isaac and Jacob, means the
requirement for the promise had to be something more
than simply flesh and blood descendants of Abraham.
After Jacob's conversion experience, God gave him a
new name. Israel, a name with spiritual meaning.
After over 400 years of slavery in Egypt, God raised up a
leader, Moses to deliver them, lead them in the
wilderness to Mt. Sinai and finally the banks of the
Jordan river, ready to enter the promised land. In his last
sermon he gives the key to the promise for Israel.
If they obey God, they will be blessed in the land.
If they fail to obey God, they will be scattered. They did
disobey God, and crucify His son and were scattered.
The promise was not made to Abraham’s flesh and blood
descendants, but to the children of the promise.
Only those who believe are children of Abraham
regardless of their family heritage.
Jesus is the descendant God was referring to in Genesis.
We in Christ are the true descendants of Abraham.
The new nation of Israel is Spiritual Israel the church.
Mt. Zion in the NT is the church of Jesus Christ
The 144000 on Mt. Zion is the last church redeemed
from the earth.

There is a day which is called the Lord's Day.
This text does not specify which day is the Lord's Day.
Which Day is the Lord's day? The Sabbath.
What is the Sabbath? God worked for six days and rested
on the seventh day. He made the seventh day holy. He
did something to it, that he did not do to the other six
days.
Since God worked six days and rested on the Sabbath, he
wants his people to observe the Sabbath too. "The
Seventh Day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Since
Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath (Matt. 12:8), and
since Jesus is the Creator, He:
1. Made the World in six days.
2. Rested (Heb. Sabbath-ed) on the Seventh Day.
3. Blessed the Seventh day.
The Sabbath was made for man. There was something
inside of God that desired this pattern of 6 days of work
and the seventh day for rest. Man was created in the
image of God with a need for the same Sabbath Cycle.
Not for the Jews only but for Man. There were no Jews
on the earth at creation when the Sabbath was made.
Which day is the Seventh day? Jesus was crucified on
Friday, Rested on Sabbath and was resurrected on
Sunday. Since The Sabbath was observed after the
crucifixion it could not have been abolished the previous
day.
Jesus, our example, kept the Sabbath day.
Jesus, looking ahead to the destruction of Jerusalem
which was in 70 AD, expected Christians to be
observing the Sabbath at that time, 40 yr. after the cross.
Matthew, writing some 30 years after the cross taught the
Church how to observe the Sabbath. There is no hint of
concerning which day to observe. The only controversy
is how to observe it.
The Sabbath is not only a sign of Creation (Exo 20:11)
but also a sign of redemption.
The Sabbath will be observed in the new earth.

Is the command to love one another a new command for
New Testament Christians?
The command to love God was an Old Testament law.
So was the command to love your neighbor.
Therefore Jesus was not making up new commandments
for New Testament Christians. (c.f. 2 John 6)
Paul sums up the 10 commandments with 1 word, love.
What did Jesus teach about the law of God?
The law will not be abolished
The law will not be changed
Which law was Jesus speaking of?
Did Jesus weaken the law or did he intensify it?
He intensified it by applying to more that the action, but
even the thoughts.
Did Jesus do away with the law forbidding adultery?
Did James say that Christians need only keep nine of the
commandments or all ten? Does this include the
Sabbath? Does James expect NT Christians to be judged
by the law in the future?
It seems as though Paul may be saying that since we are
justified by faith, we have nothing to do with the law. Is
this what he is saying? See the next reference.
We must agree with Paul's conclusion that grace doesn't
nullify but it builds up the law. Any other conclusion in
other difficult passages is a misinterpretation of Paul.
Paul speaks here of a law and Sabbath days which have
been abolished and nailed to the cross. We must begin
with Paul’s conclusion above. Then ask which law and
which Sabbath days is he referring to?
Only those which are a shadow of Christ.
Which Sabbaths are a Shadow of Christ? See next text.
This text speaks of the weekly Sabbath.
This Sabbath is a yearly Sabbath.
The yearly Sabbaths involve offerings. They are
ceremonial Sabbaths, governed by ceremonial laws
which were a shadow of Christ who was the reality to
come. The ceremonial laws were abolished, not the ten
Commandments.
How are God's people described in Revelation? Do you
want to be counted among those who keep God's law?

Does this text indicate that the Sabbath was changed to
Sunday in honor of the resurrection?
In the Bible the day began at sunset, the evening.
(evening and morning were the first day)
The dark part of the day comes first. When the sun sets,
the next day begins.
If the meeting was in the evening on the first day of the
week, and the day begins at sunset, this meeting was
actually Saturday night, not Sunday morning worship.
Does this text indicate that the Sabbath was changed?
Does this verse say that there was a religious meeting?
Does it say they passed the offering plate in church?
It simply says that on the first day of the week they are to
set aside their offerings first, before they spend it on
something else.

Testament that the Sabbath was changed from the

We keep the Sabbath holy by abstaining from
unnecessary work on that day. Even those who work for
us should rest for the Sabbath.
The Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday evening. All
work should be done before sunset. Enjoy the beginning
of the Sabbath with a special family worship.
The Sabbath is called a day of sacred assembly. We
should worship on the Sabbath.
Jesus went to God’s house to worship on the Sabbath.
He is our example. Follow him.
The day before the Sabbath is preparation day. Do all
preparation possible on this day that will help avoid
work on the Sabbath. Things you could do on any other
day besides Sabbath, should be saved for another day.
How does this text describe Sabbath keeping? There
should be no buying or selling on the Sabbath. Why did
he condemn them waiting at the gates for the Sabbath to
end? (Trampling edges)
On the Sabbath we are not to pursue our own business or
our own pleasure. Keep our minds fixed on God and His
plan for us. We lose the Sabbath blessing when we allow
sports or other such things to intrude on God’s time.
“Even during the plowing season.” No matter how busy
or how much business you have on that day, you are to
set it aside for God.
Acts of mercy are permissible on the Sabbath. Medical
work which is necessary to sustain life may have to be
done on the Sabbath. It should still be limited to only
what is necessary.
Let us make the Sabbaths as they come and go each
week, lights along the way which leads to that glorious
eternal home, where all the redeemed will come near to
worship face to face each Sabbath day through out the
eternal ages.

What is man? Man (a living being or soul) consists of a
body and the breath of life. The man became a soul, man
does not possess a soul. A soul is a living being or a
person (Gen 12:5 uses the same Hebrew word)
What happens at death? The body returns to dust and
the (spirit) breath of life returns to God.
Where are the dead? Jesus said that both the righteous
and the wicked are in the grave.
What are the dead doing? Can they think?
Are the dead aware of anything?
What word did Jesus like to use to refer to death? Sleep
is a perfect description of what happens at death.
How long are the dead in the grave? When does the
perishable body become imperishable? At the last
trumpet when Jesus comes. (see also 1Thes. 4:15-17)
How can God raise him up on the last day if he goes to
heaven at death?
The comma is misplaced. How do we know?
Jesus had not yet gone to paradise by Sunday, therefore
he could not have been in paradise with the thief on
Friday.
Notice here that paul is not wanting to go naked,
(without a body). He desires to leave his earthly body
and be clothed with his new heavenly body. He already
said in 1 cor. 15:51-54, doesn’t happen until the last
trumpet. No mention of death is made in this passage.
He is simply saying that he is titred of this old world, as
long as he is in his old earhtly body, he is not present
with Jesus. He wants to be with Jesus in his new body.
Jesus is the only one who has all answers to death and we
can trust what He has clearly taught us in his word.

Many will be deceived concerning the manner of the
return of Christ.
Jesus will not be found anywhere on earth when He
returns.
He will appear in the clouds of glory. All will see Him.
Even the wicked will see Him.
He will come in the same manner in which he left.
Notice the emphasis on seeing. It will be a very visible
event.
The dead in Christ are raised up and the righteous living
are caught up together with them to meet him in the
clouds.
He comes like a thief to the wicked, not the righteous.
The wicked are destroyed.
The church is delivered and the wicked are destroyed
when he comes in blazing fire. This means the church
will be present in the world until the end, when the
wicked are destroyed. (See also 2 Pet. 3:10-13)
In the days of Noah, the wicked were taken away to their
death and the righteous were left. That is how it will be
at the return of Christ. (compare Luke 17:34)
Every decision will be made and probation will close
before Jesus returns. There will be no second chance for
the wicked after the return of Christ.
Jesus is coming to take us to heaven to be with Him.
There will be a new heaven and a new earth.

always been curious about the nearness of the end of the
world.
What sign did Jesus give first? Notice that He did not
scold them for asking for a sign.
Name three other signs in verse 7.
What condition will people be in during the last days?
How will Satan especially deceive many in the last days?
Beware of false doctrine. There will be many false
teachings in the end time. What important advice did
Paul give for survival in he last days? (see 4:16) We
must be solidly grounded in true doctrine.
What did Daniel predict about the end of time?
Will everybody believe these signs?
What great sign remains? Are things happening today
that indicate this will come to pass soon? What work
remains to be done?
What should be our attitude to all these things? Can we
predict when Jesus will come?
Notes: Signs of the End
"These signs were witnessed before the opening of the nineteenth century. In
fulfillment of this prophecy there occurred, in the year 1755, the most terrible
earthquake that has ever been recorded. Though commonly known as the
earthquake of Lisbon, it extended to the greater part of Europe, Africa, and
America. It was felt in Greenland, in the West Indies, in the island of Madeira, in
Norway and Sweden, Great Britain and Ireland. It pervaded an extent of not less
than four million square miles. In Africa the shock was almost as severe as in
Europe. A great part of Algiers was destroyed; and a short distance from
Morocco, a village containing eight or ten thousand inhabitants was swallowed
up. A vast wave swept over the coast of Spain and Africa engulfing cities and
causing great destruction." Great Controversy, 304
"In the morning the sun rose clear, but was soon overcast. The clouds became
lowery, and from them, black and ominous, as they soon appeared, lightning
flashed, thunder rolled, and a little rain fell. Toward nine o'clock, the clouds
became thinner, and assumed a brassy or coppery appearance, and earth, rocks,
trees, buildings, water, and persons were changed by this strange, unearthly light.
A few minutes later, a heavy black cloud spread over the entire sky except a
narrow rim at the horizon, and it was as dark as it usually is at nine o'clock on a
summer evening. . . .
"Fear, anxiety, and awe gradually filled the minds of the people. Women
stood at the door, looking out upon the dark landscape; men returned from their
labor in the fields; the carpenter left his tools, the blacksmith his forge, the
tradesman his counter. Schools were dismissed, and tremblingly the children fled
homeward. Travelers put up at the nearest farmhouse. 'What is coming?' queried
every lip and heart. It seemed as if a hurricane was about to dash across the land,
or as if it was the day of the consummation of all things.
"Candles were used; and hearth fires shone as brightly as on a moonless
evening in autumn. . . . Fowls retired to their roosts and went to sleep, cattle
gathered at the pasture bars and lowed, frogs peeped, birds sang their evening
songs, and bats flew about. But the human knew that night had not come. . . . The
Essex Antiquarian, April, 1899, vol. 3, No. 4, pp. 53, 54
"Though at nine o'clock that night the moon rose to the full, it had not the least
effect to dispel the deathlike shadows. After midnight the darkness disappeared,
and the moon, when first visible, had the appearance of blood." GC308

The soul is destroyed in hell
The wicked will be burned to ashes
They will cease to be, or exist
They will be as though they had never existed
What is the meaning of forever? "Forever" is from the
Hebrew word OLAM and means as long as the nature
of the subject allows. We can clearly see in this text
that forever is used as a time that can come to an end.
See also Jonah 2:6 and 1:17.
The Greek word for "forever" or "eternal" is AION and
means the same as OLAM. How long did the eternal
fire of Sodom and Gomorra burn?
We can be sure that Sodom and Gomorra are not
burning today, because Peter said they were burned to
ashes. If Sodom and Gomorra are an example of what
is going to happen to the ungodly, then what is the fate
of the wicked? They will be burned to ashes.

The lion, bear and leopard represent the sequence of the

Daniel 7.
The waters symbolize multitudes of people (Rev 17:15)
The beasts represent kingdoms (7:17) The first beast,
the lion symbolizes Babylon who ruled in 605 BC.
The Bear is Medo Persia (538 BC), the Leopard is
Greece (331 BC). The Terrifying beast was Rome
(161AD). The ten horns represent the division of Rome
into ten Barbarian Nations.
The Little Horn that uprooted the ten, and spoke
boastfully is the same power as the beast of Rev 13.
The Little Horn arises in Rome, after the division of the
empire into the European states and will uproot three of
those states. Constantine moved the capital from Rome
to Constantinople and gave the Bishop of Rome his
authority and power. The leader of the church joined
with the political powers of the state to oppose those who
would dare oppose her doctrines. This resulted in the
uprooting of three Barbarian nations who opposed the
Church.
He would blaspheme God: The Church put man in God's
place by assuming the authority to forgive sins.
He would Persecute God's people as evidenced by the
persecutions of the dark ages, such as the Spanish
Inquisition.
He would try to change the set times and the laws. The
Roman church did claim to change the Sabbath from the
7th day to the 1st day of the week.
He would be in power for time times and ½ time.
Compare with Rev 12:14, 6. This corresponds to the
time of persecution lasting 1260 days, or years.

Notice the contrast between those who receive the mark
of the beast and those who keep God’s commandments.
Those Who Put The Traditions Of Man Over The
Commandments Of God, Worship God In Vain. If Satan
Can Get Us To Accept Mans Tradition Over God’s
commands he will have won our allegiance.
God’s commands are on the hand and forehead.
This is not a literal mark, but the observance of His
commands. The forehead- believe. The hand- obey.
The Sabbath is singled out as God’s special mark or sign.
Obedience to God’s commands shows who truly believe

Why did God tell Moses to build a sanctuary? What is

Earthly sanctuary was a copy of the temple in heaven.
This is a short description of the earthly sanctuary.
What was inside the ark?
What process did an Israelite go through when he had
sinned?
The yearly Day of Atonement was a yearly "Sabbath" to
symbolize the final cleansing from sin which will come
at the end of time. It was different from the daily
sacrifices made for sins committed, and cleansed the
sanctuary itself from the sins that had accumulated there
throughout the year. The entire chapter of Lev. 16 gives
the details of this special day.

How can we understand the New Testament heavenly
sanctuary? How can we know what Jesus is doing in the

The Old Testament sacrificial system pointed forward to
the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross. (See also
John 1:29 and Rev. 13:8)
Could something in heaven, (the heavenly sanctuary)

"The written testimonies are not to give new light, but to impress vividly upon
the heart the truths of inspiration already revealed...to awaken and impress the
mind with them, that all may be left without excuse." 5T665
"In harmony with the word of God, His Spirit was to continue its work
throughout the period of the gospel dispensation. During the ages while the
Scriptures of both the Old and the New Testament were being given, the Holy
Spirit did not cease to communicate light to individual minds, apart from the
revelations to be embodied in the Sacred Canon. The Bible itself relates how,
through the Holy Spirit, men received warning, reproof, counsel, and instruction,
in matters in no way relating to the giving of the Scriptures. And mention is
made of prophets in different ages, of whose utterances nothing is recorded. In
like manner, after the close of the canon of the Scripture, the Holy Spirit was still
to continue its work, to enlighten, warn, and comfort the children of God." GC
viii
" Some... would confuse the mind by seeking to make it appear that the light God
has given through the Testimonies is an addition to the word of God, but in this
he presents the matter in a false light." 4T 246
"The testimonies of Sister White should not be carried to the front. God's Word
is the unerring standard. The Testimonies are not to take the place of the Word.
Great care should be exercised by all believers to advance these questions
carefully, and always stop when you have said enough. Let all prove their
positions from the Scriptures and substantiate every point they claim as truth
from the revealed Word of God." Ev256
"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them." Isa 8:20. The people of God are directed to
the Scriptures as their safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the
delusive power of spirits of darkness. Satan employs every possible device to
prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances
reveal his deceptions. At every revival of God's work Satan is aroused to more
intense activity; he is now putting forth his utmost efforts for a final struggle
against Christ and His followers. The last great delusion is soon to open before
us. Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight. So closely will the
counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between
them except by the Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every
miracle must be tested.
"Those who endeavor to obey all the commandments of God will be opposed. In
order to endure the trial before them, they must understand the will of God as
revealed in His word; they can honor Him only as they have a right conception
of His character, government, and purposes, and act in accordance with them.
None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will
stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test:
Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are
our feet planted on the rock of God's immutable word? Are we prepared to stand
firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus?
The fearful judgements denounced against the worship of the beast and his
image (Revelation 14:9-11), should lead all to a diligent study of the prophecies
to learn what the mark of the beast is, and how they are to avoid receiving it. But
the masses of the people turn away their ears from hearing the truth and are
turned unto fables. The apostle Paul declared, looking down to the last days:
"The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine." 2 Ti 4:3. That
time has fully come. The multitudes do not want Bible truth, because it interferes
with the desires of the sinful, world-loving heart; and Satan supplies the
deceptions which they love."
"But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible
only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of
learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical
councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represent,
the voice of the majority--not one nor all of these should be regarded as evidence
for or against any point of religious faith. Before accepting any doctrine or
precept, we should demand a plain "Thus saith the Lord" in its support."

The second angel warns against the fall of Babylon.
Contrast the true worship of God on Mt Zion with the
false worship of God in Babylon?
We must understand the fall of Babylon in the Old
Testament before understanding Revelation.
The Gold Goblets were holy and to be used only for the
worship of the true God. Belshazzer profaned the holy
cups. He treated them just like any other cups.
God sent a mysterious message of warning to the king.
Daniel was called to Interpret the message
The king knew the truth about God.
He knew the cups were holy, and he should not have
used them. He was not sinning out of ignorance but with
full awareness of his outright defiance of God.
After a definite period of time set by God, he Judged
Babylon, condemned her and announced that Babylon
had fallen. Later that night, Babylon was captured.
Babylon fell because the king willfully profaned that
which God said was holy.
The Harlot is named Babylon and like her Old Testament
counterpart, is portrayed as a city who ruled over the
kings of the earth.
The woman is identified with the beast who in
Revelation 13, symbolized the Medieval Church of
Rome whose deadly wound was to be healed.
Babylon, the fallen church is found united in adultery
with the political powers of the state. Spiritual adultery
is defined as unfaithfulness to the commands of God.
(see Judges 2:17) The church and state join together to
force the world to accept the false doctrines of Babylon.
The golden cup represents the wine of her false
doctrines. Just as Belshazzar profaned the golden cups,
modern Babylon profanes God's holy day, the Sabbath
and replaces it with man's day, Sunday.
Babylon is the Mother of prostitutes. This symbolizes
Rome with her Protestant daughters who have joined
with her in profaning God's Sabbath day.
God calls His people to come out of Babylon and unite
with His remnant who keep his commandments. (John
12:14-16) Don't you want to be a part of God's fold.

What was the attitude of Christ?
How can our dress reflect the attitude of Christ?
On the day of atonement, the high priest removed the
decorated garment and replaced it with the simple linen
one. This simplicity of dress symbolized the attitude of
Christ and the purity of life. We are now living in the
day of Atonement. How then should we dress.
God Commanded his people to take off their ornaments
before He judged them and before they could enter the
promised land.
The Old Testament wilderness stories are examples for
us, spiritual Israel, today. We are living in the time of
the judgement about to enter the promised land above.
Jewelry is associated with idolatry and forgetting God.
Does modest dress means that a Christian should be
concerned about necklines, dress length, bathing suits?
Paul prohibits the wearing of expensive clothes, he is not
speaking of moderation, he also prohibits the wearing of
jewelry. "Tthe Lord, through His apostle, speaks
expressly against the wearing of gold." 4T630
Peter explains how the wearing of jewelry blocks up the
witness of the Spirit and true beauty is from within.
Jewelry symbolizes the blessings God wants to give to
Israel. Jewelry in itself is not evil. God created jewels.
He will give us a crown of jewels in the new earth. But
until then it is not appropriate for us to dress ourselves
with jewelry. We are to wait until he gives it to us.
The question is not always a question of right and wrong,
but a question of what is best for the church as a whole.
Many are struggling with pride of dress and fashion. We
should insure that we are not a stumbling block to
others.
Don't conform to the worlds standards of dress and
amusement.
Flee from all sexual immorality. How does this affect
the things we choose to watch on TV?
Those who love violence displease God.
When we behold God, we become like Him. The
opposite is also true.

Christians are commanded to Glorify God in all that they
eat or drink. We should be guided by his word. This
means that Christians should avoid such things as
harmful narcotics, alcohol and tobacco.
God gave every seed-bearing plant and every tree that
has fruit with seed in it for food. God's original diet for
man was a meatless diet consisting of fruits, nuts and
grains. He did not permit man to eat flesh food until
after the flood.
Even though flesh foods were permitted after the flood,
there were some types of animals that were not to be
eaten. The LORD said You may eat any animal that has
a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.
Beef, Lamb, deer etc. are clean. Rabbit, pig, and horse
etc. are unfit for food.
Of the creatures living in the waters you may eat any that
have fins and scales. Trout, flounder, salmon etc. are
clean. Catfish, shellfish, oysters, shrimp, lobsters etc. are
not clean.
The fact that those who are eating these foods when
Jesus comes to Judge and destroy the wicked, will be
destroyed, means that these food restrictions apply even
through the entire New Testament times.
Jesus is not talking about what a person eats. He is
talking about eating with unwashed hands. (v20)
Paul speaks only of certain foods, which God created to
be received with thanksgiving. Food must be consecrated
by both the Word of God and prayer. Pork was never
created for food to be received with thanksgiving
because it is not consecrated by the word of God.
Study this passage in its entire context and notice that 1.
Peter never did eat the unclean food and 2. the point of
the lesson is found in verse 28, it is people not food that
God is concerned about.
Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just
as He is pure.
Nothing impure will ever enter God's City.
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should
honor God with our body.
