WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE LEARNED Every month we consult the children on their ideas for what they would like to learn within a topic. This month the children determined the topic. They suggested ideas then voted in their groups for what should be our backdrop for the month ahead. The majority agreed that “Under the Sea” would be our topic so we used the book “Bored Claude” as a starting point. When learning how to care for ourselves we reinforced good hand-washing techniques and the importance of tooth-brushing. We also learned how to keep our bodies healthy through games using the “Eat Well, Play Well” resources with Christine and Alison. Personal safety was addressed through our trips out, travelling on the bus and walks when moving between our campuses.
