Durban Ski Boat Club Festival Rules 2016
 Limited to ski boats (max 400 boats) and Jet Skis (max 30 skis)
 All boats are to launch and beach from the following sites:
Durban Ski Boat Club, the Durban Harbour, and Umhlanga
Rocks SBC-----only URS boats.
 All boats that enter must have a current sea worthy certificate
and comply with all regulations in full. All boats must display
the Land Rover sticker and others provided.
 The competition will be run over Saturday the 30th April 2016
and Sunday the 1st May 2016. No weather allowance is
provided.
 Saturday 30th April 2016: Fishing may only commence after the
fly pass, scheduled to start at 6.45am. Fish must be at the
weigh in by 3.30pm. No allowances will be made.
 Sunday 1st May 2016: Fishing from first light (5.45am).Weigh in
by 2.30pm. Boats must gather off Vetches, and can only go
fishing at 5.45am---a hooter will be sounded at 5.45 am.
 The main prize of the 510 Sea cat with a pair of 60hp Yamaha’s,
on a trailer, will go to the angler who catches the largest
Barracuda---King Mackerel.
 There will be over R330000 worth of other prizes that will be
allocated by the competition committee. Besides King Mackerel
(Cuda) that will attract the majority of the prizes there will be
species prizes for other game fish. These are Queen Mackerel,
Snoek, Yellow Fin Tuna, Dorado, Prodigal Son and Wahoo --- No
Kingfish. There will be no prizes for bottom fish, sharks, and bill
fish. There will be prizes for juniors and ladies.
 Should the competition be called off due to poor weather and
or any other reason, beyond our control, there will not be any
refund of the entry fee.
 There is no restriction on line class.
 The anglers must be present at prize giving, and other lucky
draw times, in order to qualify for the lucky draw prizes.
 Crew must ensure they know where their trailer is parked on
their return.
 Parking and launching procedures will be covered at the
briefing session on the Friday night. Registration is at the club
between 10.00am and 06.00pm on Friday 29th April 2016.
 The ruling and allocation of prizes will be undertaken by the
competition committee, whose ruling will be final. Any dispute
will be ruled upon by the competition committee whose
decision will be final and binding.
 Only competitors who enter and are paid up before the 31st
March 2016 will qualify for the lucky draws, and are guaranteed
gift packs and T-shirt.
 Competitors are requested to wear the competition gear
provided in the gift packs at the prize giving on Sunday as a
show of gratitude to our sponsors.
 Any unruly behaviour or conduct not befitting of the event, or
bringing the Durban Ski Boat Club, its committee, its sponsors
or any affiliated party into disrepute will result in the offending
party or parties to be disqualified from the competition.
 Boundaries are the Tongaat River in the North to the
Amanzintoti River in the South.
 Fishing for bait. Attached is a sheet detailing GPS positions of
popular bait spots. No anchoring is allowed until 11.00am both
on Saturday and Sunday.
