I can use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing side of a right triangle I can use informal arguments to identify angle relationships. What are the types of transformations and how can you recognize them? What is the Pythagorean Theorem and how can you use it to determine the length of a missing side of a right triangle? What are the key terms used to justify whether a pair of angles is congruent or supplementary? Name: Hage Subject: Geometry Review and Summative Kahoot! Review for Summative with Chromebooks All students also need a white board and marker to work out the problems. Direct Instruction No School President’s Day *Review Chromebook protocol. *Assign numbers to students *Students log into chromebooks and go to kahoot.it *Enter the game pin *Students will select answers for each problem that comes up on the screen when given a 2 minutes time span. Plans for week of: 02/16/2015 (Probability) Summative Review *Transformations – What are they *Transformations – how can you recognize them in a given situation *Pythagorean Theorem – find distance *Pythagorean Theorem – real world problems *Angle Relationships – what are they and how can we remember them, *5 question review before summative. Transformations (2) Pythagorean Theorem (c) Pythagorean Theorem (a& b) Angle Relationships – (alternate ve corresponding vs supplementary) Students will have summative assessments returned to them and will be reminded of the “rules” for corrections. Summative Assessment *Students will be responsible for recording, after each question, which problems were answered correctly and which problems were answered incorrectly. All corrections MUST be turned in by the end of the period today. All corrections must be done on a separate sheet of paper and all work must be shown. For any problems where work is not shown, no credit will be given. Must staple your corrections to you summative assessment when you turn it in. Students who complete corrections before the end of class can begin work on Angles challenge problem Guided Practice Checking for Understanding* No School President’s Day Independent Practice No School President’s Day Closure* Congruent to Objective Active Participation Past Experience Students will rework questions that they got wrong on yesterday’s Kahoot activity. No School President’s Day No School President’s Day Check student work for correctness as they are working on each problem or when it is notices that they have missed more than one problem in a row. Summative Assessment Recheck work for correctness. What properties can you use to fill in other angles – label all Summative Assessment Summative Assessment Discuss the problems that were missed by the most students. Remind students that they will have a 15Q summative tomorrow. What are the angles that you know in the figure? Go over problems that were missed by multiple students. Assessments will be graded as they are completed and students will know their scores before leaving. Solve for all of the missing angles. What is your conclusion? Does your conclusion make sense?
