Most solar arrays are composed of "series strings" of matched panels, wired in series to have high
voltage DC and higher power. This conventional approach is fundamentally vulnerable - when
individual panels experience minor variations in output, Vp, they disrupt the output of the string and
the entire array, cutting overall energy harvest by 15 to 30 percent!
Independent studies prove that the highest energy loss in PV Solar Panel is when a shadow is cast by a
tree or dust, dirt, leaves or bird dropping that covers even in one PV panel within a series string of
several panels. (See the study by the Director of Renewable Energy at the National Semiconductor
Corp. USA)
MITRAMAX Energy’s Parallel Solar architecture addresses this inherent vulnerability. With the addition
of a simple V-Boost converter +MPPT in a PV module, each panel becomes a fully independent, highly
efficient contributor of power to the array - just like a power plant on a grid. That is what IEC does. We

IEC's Parallel Array gives system designers flexibility regarding PV panel location, orientation and
