Carrying capacity is the largest population an environment can support
When a bird eats a worm, the bird is the predator
After one species disappears, the other species in the ecosystem are thrown out of
balance
Limiting factors determine an area’s carrying capacity because animals need
resources to survive
Competition is when two members of the same species fight over who gets a
certain food and try to take over a certain nesting area
Food is a limiting factor when a population is too large
When a population grows larger than its carrying capacity, limiting factors in the
environment cause the population to decrease
When two of the same species are fighting over fresh kill it is competition
between species.
