Cell Cycle Booklet
You will create a children’s booklet with illustrations showing the steps of the cell cycle (Interphase, Mitosis, &
Cytokinesis) and describe specifically what is happening in the cell (including all of the organelles involved!), in a child’s
language. Use chapter 10 for information and three sheets of paper folded in half and stapled for your book. This should
not look exactly like your foldable!!
Criteria
 Cover with title
 For each phase include a drawing, with structures involved labeled, of what the cell would look like during this
phase and explain what is happening in the cell.
o Interphase (pg.1)
o Mitosis (one page for each below)
 Prophase (pg.2)
 Metaphase (pg.3)
 Anaphase (pg.4)
 Telophase (pg.5)
o Cytokinesis (pg.6)
 Be sure to explain how this step occurs in plant cells and in animal cells.
 Last two pages (pg.7 and 8)
o Why is the cell cycle important?
o What are the results of mitosis?
o Why is mitosis important?
o How is the cell cycle regulated?
o Explain happens when cells lose the ability to control growth.
*Booklets should be colorful, creative, neat, and easy to read and understand.
