I SEE
IT MEANS
-A bald eagle holding an olive branch in its left
claw and arrows in its right claw
-In front of the eagle is a red, white, and blue
shield with thirteen stripes.
-In the circle above the eagle there are 13 white
stars on a blue background, surrounded by yellow,
then surrounded by white.
-In the eagle’s mouth he is holding a yellow
ribbon that says “E pluribus unum”
-The bald eagle is the symbol of the United States
of America. It represents strength and power.
They are very defensive. The olive branch
represents peace, while the arrows represent
fighting/war. By having both things in its claw it
shows that the United States wants peace, but is
willing to fight to protect the country. The olive
branch and arrows are also symbols of Congress.
-The shield in front of the eagle symbolizes that
the United States is willing to do what it takes to
defend the country. The 13 stripes represent the
13 original colonies that the eagle fights for.
-The 13 white stars above the eagle represent the
13 original colonies of the U.S. Blue background
represents the idea of peace. The yellow
represents the sun and the white represents the
clouds, meaning that no matter what the stars
shine through.
-The words on the ribbon are a motto of the
United States. It means “from many, one” It
means that from many different immigrants, we
are all American. Or from 13 colonies, we are one
nation.
Summary/POV
The point of view of this seal is that America is a strong nation that is willing to fight to defend its
country. America seeks peace, but it will fight if its freedom is put at risk. The 13 original colonies
were the foundation of the nation and from then the country has grown, but the 13 original colonies
will be something America always fights to protect.
