The Odyssey is a very famous story by the Greek poet Homer. After fighting in
the Trojan War, Odysseus (the main character) tries to return to his home. The
journey (or “odyssey”) takes him ten years! Along the way, he has many
adventures and faces many challenges. The book you are about to read is about
that journey.
Before you start, think of a difficult journey you have taken or any other stories
you know about adventures. List as many words as you can to describe
