SPELLING
PERSONIFICATION STORY
Write a story pretending you
are an object having human
characteristics using all your
spelling words. Underline the
words in the story.
SPELLING LETTER
SENTENCE FUN
Write a letter to your pet (if
you don’t have a pet, write one
to a pet you know) using all of
your spelling words.
Write a sentence for each of
your spelling words and write
them in bubble letters.
SPELLING PRACTICE TEST
PICTURES
Have someone at home give
you a practice test by giving
you sentences with your
words in them. You need to
write the whole sentence
Attach your sentences.
Draw a picture to illustrate each
word. Your drawing should help
you to remember the word’s
meaning. Write each word 5
times each next to the pictures.
SPELLING MEMORY
TOSS A WORD
Write all your words down on
index cards (2 times each) or
pieces of paper. Place them
face down and pick two cards.
You get to keep the cards when
you make a match. If you don’t
make a match turn them back
over. Concentrate on where the
cards are located to find
matches.
Toss a ball back and forth with
someone at home. You say the
1st letter, and then toss and the
other person says 2nd letter,
and so forth! Do this for each
of your spelling words 3 times.
RANSOM WORDS
Write each Spelling word by
cutting letters out of
magazines, newspapers, etc.
and pasting them on another
sheet of paper. Put the
words in abc order.
