The HCG Diet
Introduction
Medical professionals are hailing weight loss with HCG as a major breakthrough in
losing weight and stubborn body fat. This advanced weight loss program has a 100%

physician-supervised program that is completely safe and has been developed to help
people lose weight and keep it off.
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone present in both males and
females. It is the hormone produced by pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy.
During pregnancy, the substance almost completely controls the woman’s metabolic
functions. In non-pregnant persons, research suggests HCG similarly increases the

Dr. Simeons noticed that his patients could drastically reduce their caloric intake without
experiencing irritability, hunger pains, headaches, or weakness while also taking HCG.
As Dr. Simeons continued his research, he found that an HCG injection did more than
just help his patients lose weight. In fact, he found that the injections also helped to
naturally reshape his patient’s bodies even if they did not engage in exercise while on the diet.
Dr. Simeons concluded that this was because the patients lost their fat tissue from adipose
tissue accumulations, which made changes in the body shape more visible. What people were
losing wasn’t simply weight, but fat, a particular kind of fat.
We generally think of fat as just “fat,” but in fact there are three distinct kinds of fat, two of
which we need, and one we don’t. If you’ve tried dieting, perhaps diet after diet, and found that
the weight comes back, it’s because diets can’t rid us of the one kind of fat that most needs to
be eliminated.
Of the three kinds of fat, structural fat is essential because it cushions our organs. Then
there’s the kind of fat that gives us a reserve of energy, fueling the body between meals.

But a third kind of fat-the unsightly fat that ruins our appearance-is totally unhealthy.
This unwanted fat is not only unhealthy, it just happens to be almost impossible to lose. It can
be mobilized only in times of starvation and pregnancy.
In a non-pregnant state, HCG as a weight-loss aid helps reduce the craving for food by
making stored fat available for metabolism, thus aiding in the ability to adhere to a rigid
diet program. HCG accesses unnecessary fat stored in the body just as it does in early
pregnancy. Abnormal fat deposits disappear; the double chin, potbelly and fat around
hips and thighs are the first to go. HCG does not deplete subcutaneous or other essential fat.
Most HCG Weight-loss participants see a loss in girth (inches) before they see any
substantive drop in the scales. When properly supervised, the result is rapid weight loss
and improved body shape during and after treatment. Reshaping of body contour is
quickly noticeable in those patients who struggle with fat located in buttocks and hips
area. As the HCG metabolizes stored body fat, about 2000 calories are released into the

The genius of Dr. Simeons was to recognize that HCG triggers the body to burn this type of fat.
It appears to reset the hypothalamus gland, along with areas of the brain that
regulate a variety of hormones, blood sugar metabolism, blood pressure, and other key
body functions.

Dr. Simeons wrote a book called Pounds and Inches for other doctors and he states that HCG
causes a change in metabolism. He states it makes your body mobilize fat out of the fat
storage locations. Weight loss comes from adipose tissue, not muscle. And HCG does not strip
the body of vitamins and minerals. And if you follow the diet, you can keep that weight off!

How does it work?
The HCG diet consists of daily injections or oral drops of HCG. It is similar to what a
diabetic person does when they inject insulin daily. The oral form is simply put into your
mouth with a dropper. In addition to this, you will need to reduce your caloric intake to
just 500 calories per day. Generally you eat a meal of lean meat, chicken, fish, shrimp or
lobster, one fruit and one vegetable, two times a day. (There are a few exceptions.)
Obviously, you would be able to lose weight with a 500-calorie diet even if you weren’t
getting HCG hormone treatments. If you cut back to this many calories without the help
of HCG, however, you will likely be very hungry and lose muscle as well as fat.
Obviously, this isn’t healthy and will not result in a toned body.
What can I expect?
There are no age or sex limits, and tolerance to the treatment is excellent. Weight loss is safe
and comfortable for patients, provided that they meticulously follow the prescribed diet. Any
deviation from the protocol is likely to not yield the desired results. Even minor deviations may
cause unwanted setbacks. At the conclusion of the diet patients should have lost an average
of 0.5 - 1.0lb per day.
You will lose fat mostly in the waist and stomach. You’ll reduce any fat pads like a
double chin and love handles. You’ll lose that inner knee and thigh fat with no sagging
skin. The diet actually helps you do body contouring without exercise. HCG makes it
easier for you to cut back calories because it acts as an appetite suppressant. During the first
few days of the program, you might experience mild hunger after reducing your food
consumption. By the second week, however, most people find small servings of food to be
quite satisfying. This is partially because the HCG helps to release calories from your stored
fat and these calories then circulate throughout your body. In addition, your hypothalamus

balanced structured meals combined with daily use of HCG allow the body to tap into
and metabolize its stored fat. This allows for a safe, rapid loss of fat and inches.

What happens to the body after years of dieting?
Diet programs can have good results if a change in lifestyle and eating habits is achieved.
How many of us have been on a diet, lost a good amount of weight, then gained it back? Most
diets consist of reducing calories. After years of doing this, the body is in chaos and doesn’t
know what to do any more. This can slow your metabolism and affect your hormones. Pretty
soon as another diet is introduced, the body will hold on to the fat and not let it go because it
knows it’s diet time again.
Overview of Plan
The HCG diet plan consists of 3 stages: The first 2 load days, the 500 calorie fat burning
stage, and the maintenance diet.
Loading days:
Days 1 – 2:
Begin taking the HCG hormone as instructed. These are “loading days,” which consist of
eating as many fat filled foods as possible until you are completely stuffed. Dr. Bird suggests
eating a lot of highly concentrated foods such as milk chocolate, pastries, sugar, fried meats,
eggs and bacon, mayonnaise, bread with thick butter and jam etc. The time and trouble spent
on pressing this point upon reluctant patients is always greatly rewarded afterwards, because
they do not struggle with the difficulties of hunger and fatigue in the beginning stages of the
diet. Patients who do not follow instructions on the loading days have a much more difficult
time in the beginning and have a more difficult first week.
500-calorie Fat Burning Stage:
Day 3 - until last dose of HCG:
Continue taking the prescribed dose of HCG. Begin the 500-calorie per day diet.
This will be explained further below.
72 hours after last dose of HCG:
Transition stage - STOP taking the HCG:
Continue on the 500 calorie diet for 72 more hours. The hormone will be completely eliminated
from the body.

The Maintenance Diet, weeks 1-3:
Begin 72 hours after your last dose of HCG and continue for three weeks. You may now eat
more foods and add fats and dairy into your diet. NO starches or sugars are allowed in this
phase. The purpose of this phase is for the body to adjust and stabilize at its new weight.
The Maintenance Diet, weeks 4-6:
This is the final phase where you begin to add starches and sugars back into your diet.
Technically nothing is off limits anymore. It is best not to resume any old eating habits that led
to weight gain in the first place, but you may eat what you would like. The best rule to follow is
“everything in moderation.” More information about this will be provided.
Preparing for the diet:
Supplies needed:
 Scale to measure your weight. You need to weigh yourself every morning. This allows
you to see your progress and identify any problems when there is no weight loss.
 Digital food scale that measures in ounces. Digital is preferred, because it is more
accurate. Varying food weight, even if it is just an ounce, can affect your weight loss.
Important Points:
Weight Fluctuations
After the fourth or fifth day of dieting the daily loss of weight begins to decrease and there is a
smaller urinary output. Men often continue to lose regularly at that rate, but
women are more irregular in spite of faultless dieting. There may be no drop at all for two or
three days and then a sudden loss, which reestablishes the normal average. These
fluctuations are entirely due to variations in the retention and elimination of water, which are
more common in women than in men.
Two processes determine the weight registered by the scale. Under the influence of HCG, fat
is being extracted from the cells, in which it is stored in the fatty tissue. When these cells are
empty and therefore serve no purpose, the body breaks down the cellular structure and
absorbs it, but breaking up of useless cells, connective tissue, blood vessels, etc., may lag
behind the process of fat-extraction. When this
happens the body appears to replace some of the extracted fat with water, which is retained
for this purpose. As water is heavier than fat the scales may show no loss of weight, although

sufficient fat has actually been consumed to make up for the deficit in the 500-Calorie diet.
When then such tissue is finally broken down, the water is liberated and there is a sudden
flood of urine and a marked loss of weight. This simple interpretation of what is really an
extremely complex mechanism is the one we give
those patients who want to know why it is that on certain days they do not lose, though they
have committed no dietary error.
Cosmetics
Skin care products with fats, oils, butters, creams and ointments can be absorbed
and interfere with weight reduction by HCG just as if they have been eaten. This sensitivity to
very minor increases in nutritional intake is a unique feature of the HCG diet. Anyone who
handles fats, such a hair dressers, massage therapists, butchers, etc. never show a
satisfactory loss of weight unless they can avoid fat coming into contact with their skin. Make
sure to check any lotions or sunscreens for fats and oils before you use them. Lotions that are
entirely free of fatty substances may be used with caution. Otherwise, stick to only using
mineral oil based products such as baby oil or baby night time/bedtime lotion for dry skin. You
can also use Cornhuskers lotion, which is glycerin based. Glycerin attracts moisture to your
skin, so it will soften you skin. There are glycerin-based soaps as well which can be used in
the shower.
Make-up
Make-up that is allowed on the diet is: eye brow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick,
and face powder that are oil-free. For those who cannot live without make-up, others have
used mineral make-up on the protocol without adverse affects on the ability to lose weight. If
you currently are using mineral make-up, then you may continue to use it. If not, then we
recommend Young Blood mineral make-up. Basically, mineral make-up is the best and only
option.
Possible acne breakouts
It is possible to have acne outbreaks while on the protocol. Our fat cells are storage for
everything, from vitamins and minerals to toxins. If you have an acne flare-up or rash occur
during the diet, it is most likely your body’s way of excreting toxins. Our skin is
a large detox organ, and when there are too many toxins for the liver to handle efficiently, then
the skin will step in and excrete some of those toxins as well.

Shampoo/Conditioner
Most shampoo and conditioners are fine. If your conditioner has oils in it, you may either switch
conditioners, or use the one you have as long as you rinse it out IMMEDIATELY after putting it
on your hair. Do not let it sit on your hair and do not massage into your scalp. You may also
want to check your deodorant; if it has oil in it you shouldn’t use
it. You can switch to some sort of deodorant spray while on the diet.
Mineral oil
Many women who are adjusted to the use of cosmetics and skin care products
containing fat find that their skin gets dry as soon as they stop using them. Mineral oil may be
used as a treatment for dry skin, because its molecules are too large to be absorbed by the
skin.This point also creates controversy, because the oil becomes a layer over the skin and
clogs pores. It is also a petroleum-based product that is a byproduct of refining oil. If this does
not bother you, you can use mineral oil for dry skin, because the body will not absorb it.
Mineral oil is able to keep skin moisturized, because it is an extra layer on top of the skin.
Mineral oil should not be used in preparing the food, because of its laxative quality and the fact
that it absorbs fat soluble vitamins, which are then lost in the stool.
Mineral oil scrub
Another way to use Mineral oil is to mix sea salt with baby oil to make a thick body scrub. The
scrub will remove dead skin, leaving skin smooth and soft. Use it on the driest areas, such as
elbows, knees, heels, etc. Rinse well after the scrub, in order to remove all residue. You may
follow by washing the area with glycerin soap.
Menstruation
For women who are menstruating no HCG is given during the monthly
menstrual cycle. This is done for up to four days. If after four days the period is worse the
patient needs to speak with the doctor. The 500-calorie diet is continued during menstruation
and causes no hardship because HCG is still circulating in the body.
Vitamins
Every time you lose a pound of fatty tissue only the actual fat is burned up. All the
vitamins, the proteins, the blood, and the minerals that this tissue contains in abundance are
fed back into the body. If there are certain vitamins you need or want to take they need to be
discussed with the doctor.

Salt and Reducing
There is no restriction in the use of salt but patients need to drink large quantities of
water throughout the treatment. Your daily amount taken should be roughly the same or less,
as a sudden increase in salt will of course be followed by a corresponding increase in water
weight as shown by the scale. An increase in the intake of salt is one of the most common
causes for an increase in weight from one day to the next.
Water
The amount of water you retain has nothing to do with the amount of water you drink. When
the body is forced to retain water, it will do this at all costs. If water intake is insufficient,
excessive water will be withdrawn from the intestinal tract, with the result of possible
constipation. On the other hand if a patient drinks more than his body requires, the surplus is
promptly and easily eliminated. Trying to prevent the body from retaining water by drinking less
does not work. A 2-liter minimum should be consumed each day.
Constipation
Your bowel movements will slow down due to the decreased intake of food. If you
drink the proper amount of water you can avoid constipation. If constipation does become an
issue then speak with the doctor to get some ideas and suggestion

The Go HCG Diet Plan
The HCG diet plan consists of 3 Phases: The first phase is 2
loading days, followed by the 500 calorie fat burning stage
(VLCD), and the maintenance phase
The typical dose is 3 full sprays under the tongue with a
minimum of 3 times per day. You may repeat a dose every 15
minutes when hunger or cravings occur and continue until the
cravings or hunger diminishes.
PHASE 1
Loading days:
Days 1 – 2:
Start Taking HCG on Day One!
Begin taking the HCG 3 full spays 3 times a day, and enjoy eating as much fat
and sugar filled foods as possible until you are completely stuffed. These 2 days
of food will serve as your storage reserve for the duration of the first week on the
HCG diet. You may gain weight during the loading phase. Once the HCG and
the very low calorie diet start to work the weight will come right off. It’s
suggested to eat a lot of highly concentrated foods such as milk chocolate,
pastries, sugar, fried meats, eggs and bacon, mayonnaise, bread with thick

butter and jam etc. You may also eat as many healthy fats like avocado, nuts,
and coconut oil. You may also want to eat fried chicken, chicken wings, ice
cream, donuts, cake and anything your heart desires remember the more the
better in the loading phase.

always greatly rewarded afterwards, because they do not struggle with the
difficulties of hunger and fatigue in the beginning stages of the diet. Patients who
do not follow instructions on the loading days have a much more difficult time in
the beginning and have a more difficult first week.
This is the fun part of the program so enjoy it!
SAMPLE OF A GORGE DAY MENU
Female HCG Diet Gorge Day Menu:








Breakfast: 3 donuts with milk, pancakes and some bacon.
Snack 1: Hershey bar, Snickers bar (you get the idea)
Lunch: Pizza, a Caesar salad, some avocado
Snack 2: A pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream or a milk shake
Snack 3: Chocolate (A Snickers bar) or your favorite candy bar
Dinner: Fettuccini Alfredo (for the fatty sauce), garlic bread, and some rich
New York Style cheesecake, a glass or two of wine
Snack 4: A Three Musketeers Bar
Snack 5: Some Oreos and milk
Male HCG Diet Gorge Day Menu:




Breakfast: 3 donuts with milk, sausage, bacon,
Snack 1: A chili dog with a 24 oz Coke
Lunch: A pizza, some hot wings, and a beer
Snack 2: Twinkie with chocolate sauce on it

Snack 3: A Big Mac & French fries with a large Coke
Dinner: 18 oz New York Strip Steak, 2 piles of mashed potatoes, some
French Fries, and some beer

Snack 5: A Twinkie or Ho-Ho and a cinnamon roll
You got the idea. Fatty Fatty and more Fatty the meal or
snack the better. Be sure to include on these gorge
days anything that you may crave in the next month.
Remember to take the HCG 3 times a day!
PHASE 2
This phase is called the VLCD which stands for Very Low Calorie Diet.
DAYS 3 -15 OR MAXIMUM 45 DAYS ON THE 500 CAL DIET
YOU CAN ONLY EAT THE FOOD LISTED IN THIS BOOK AND ONLY THIS FOOD NO
SUBSTITUTIONS!
Now it’s time to get serious… This part of the diet is much stricter. However, this
is where the HCG diet truly starts your transformation that will change your life.
For the next 15-45 days (however long you decide to stay on the diet), you will
take the HCG as directed and make your meal choices based strictly off of this

diet. During this phase you will have to follow this very specific diet and weigh
yourself everyday to ensure you are progressing as you should be in order to
achieve maximum weight loss and results.
Breakfast:
Drink as much herbal tea or coffee as you want however
do not use cream or sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in a 24 hour
period. You may use Stevia which can be used as a sweetener. (Note Stevia
comes in many flavors) We have found that drinking 4 glasses of water first thing
in the morning before brushing your teeth has helped patients to decrease the
hunger feeling as well as aiding your body in eliminate toxins produced from
burning of fat. This procedure should be followed throughout all phases of this
diet.
Lunch
100 grams (4 oz) of lean beef, chicken breast (off the bone),
veal, fresh white fish, Chilean sea bass, Flounder, Sole, Halibut, lobster, crab, or
shrimp. Deli sliced Turkey is allowed (try to get low sodium). We have found that
canned tuna packed in water is okay. All visible fat must be carefully removed
before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled
without additional fat. Salmon, eel, fresh tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are
not allowed. Season your meat with a half of a lemon, white or black pepper,
sea salt (with iodine added), garlic, basil parsley, thyme, marjoram or any other
dry herb.
Only one type of vegetable can be chosen at a time from the following: spinach,
chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red
radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. Drink as much water coffee or tea as
you want remember no sugar or creamer allowed and sweeten with flavored
Stevia and your coffee will taste like a French Vanilla Latte…well almost.

ABSOLUTELY NO OILS, BUTTER,
DRESSINGS OF ANY KIND
One grissini breadstick, one Melba toast, or 2 Melba “snacks” (original, garlic,
whole grain, or sesame flavored)
You may have 2 helpings of any of the following fruits per day: Medium apple,
Grapefruit, Orange, or a handful of Strawberries or Blueberries. You can have
the fruit anytime during the day before your meal or in between meals as a
snack.
NOTES:
The juice of one Lemon is allowed for all purposes.
The fruit or breadsticks may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or
dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at
one meal.
NO MIXNG OF VEGETABLES. VEGETABLES MUST BE EATEN WITH PROTEIN.
Dinner :
Follow the same diet plan as you did for lunch except
chose a different protein for dinner. For example if you had chicken at lunch use
beef or seafood for your dinner protein. Other than changing the protein choice
everything else will stay the same.

In the event that you cannot eat from the menu provided, you can order the
following from the following fast food chains.
Quiznos, or Subway
or any other subshop you may order regular
plain grilled chicken (emphasize no oil) on a bed of lettuce. Use only vinegar as
a dressing (NO OIL). Pepper is OK to use.
Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Order Tilapia or Grilled Chicken
Breast with asparagus or steamed Broccoli or any other plain steamed vegitable
on the list. Always request no oil.
You can eat at your favorite Italian restaurant: Order a grilled chicken breast and
have them serve it with a steamed vegetable or over a bed of lettuce and use
balsamic vinegar sparingly. Don’t forget, NO OIL or Salad dressings at this time.
Sweeteners
Stevia is a great tasting natural sweetener. It comes in regular flavor as well as
many tasty flavors like: Vanilla Crème, Berry, Toffee, French Vanilla, and
Chocolate to name a few. Whole foods carry a good variety of Stevia. You may
use Stevia as much as you want while on the HCG diet. Sweet n Low brand
sweetener may also be used on this diet in any quantity but Stevia is preferred.
Sweet n Low is synthetic and is considered to be a carcinogenic.
Drinks
Herbal teas, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed.
They may be taken in any quantity and at all times. Just remember no creamer
or milk in the coffee. And only use the sweeteners mentioned above. In fact it is
highly recommended that you drink 2 liters of water and a total of 4 liters of fluids
a day which equals to ½ to I gallon of water per day. Some patients think that
they should not drink this much water because they fear they will start to retain
water. This is not true in fact the opposite is true if you do not consume enough
fluids your body is more inclined to retain and store water when the fluid reserve

drop below normal. While in Phase 2, you will be creating a lot of toxins from the
burning of fat. The more water in the body the easier it is to eliminate these
potentially dangerous toxins. We recommend that you take the Whole Body
Detox throughout Phase 1 and Phase 2. The Whole Body Detox will aid your
vital organs, Liver, Lymphatic system, and Kidneys with eliminating these toxins.
So the more water you have the easier and more effective your body can be in
eliminating these potentially harmful toxins.
Note: We have found that drinking 4 glasses of water first thing in the morning
prior to brushing your teeth has helped patients to decrease their hunger feeling.
In addition it helps your body in eliminating toxins created from the burning of
stored body fat. This procedure should be followed throughout this program.
Correction Day
Apple Day:
In Phase 2 if you cheat you will gain weight. It can disrupt
your weight loss for up to 3 days. Or sometimes your body just stalls at a certain
weight. So you need to do a correction day. This is a method used in the Phase 2
Reduction Phase to help break a stall. It consists of eating up to six apples of
any variety and nothing more besides just enough pure water or tea to satisfy an
uncomfortable thirst throughout the day. After the apple day you will continue on
the Phase 2 diet plan. You do not need to start over just continue on where you
left off.
Most Common Errors During Phase Two




Not loading enough during the first two days this is the most common
error
Using the wrong sweetener. Use Only Stevia remember there are
many different flavors available.

PHASE 3
Maintenance Phase 3-6 weeks duration
CONGRADULATIONS YOU MADE IT PAST THE VLCD PHASE OF THE DIET
This phase involves stabilizing your body’s metabolism at your new weight. This
phase is just as important as the Fat Burning VLCD phase. You want to reset
your metabolism and your hypothalamus gland at your new weight, so that your
body does not fluctuate up or down on the scale. If you cheat during this phase
you may mess up all of the hard work you endured over the last month and take
the chance of making maintenance in the future much more difficult. If you want
to lose more weight you can do a second round of the HCG diet after this
maintenance phase is completed.
The maintenance phase begins 72 hours after your last dose of HCG and
continues for three weeks. You may now eat more foods and add fats and dairy

into your diet. NO STARCHES OR SUGARS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS PHASE.
The purpose of this phase is for the body to adjust and stabilize at its new weight.
ALL STARCHES AND SUGARS ARE
AVOIDED FOR FIRST 3 WEEKS!
Avoid: sugar, breads, pastas, starchy vegetables (all potatoes, corn, dense
squashes, carrots, and beets), rice, wheat, cereals, noodles, barley, any kind of
flour, rye, food starch, etc. Beware of processed foods, because many will
contain starches and sugars.
Good foods during this phase are all the foods listed in Phase 2 with a little more
leniency, any fruits and veggies, a little more dairy (yogurt, cottage cheese,
cheese, etc.), maybe a little more peanut butter, more milk, low carb/high fiber
cereals like Kashi, Fresh Oatmeal (not prepackaged they tend to have a lot of
sugar added), etc. Eat some fantastic salads with extremely low-carb dressing
such as Ranch dressing and Blue Cheese. In addition during this phase you may
eat protein-rich sources such as meats, eggs, hot wings and jerky. Your favorite
sugars and starches maybe introduced in very small portions and only one or so
a day as the scale allow.
During Phase 3 follow these steps:
• You must weigh yourself every morning as soon as you rise, but after you have
urinated.
• Eat three meals a day. You may increase your meals in size and quantity, as
long as you follow the rules below.

• Eat an adequate amount of daily calories to maintain weight.
• Add in other veggies, and you may eat a variety of veggies in the same meal.
• Add in other fruits, except very sugary fruits (bananas, grapes, and any dried
fruits).
• Add in fats and dairy products. Avocados, nuts, olive oils, good fats (like fatty
fish), butter, cheese, and so on can be eaten at any meal.
Keep in mind; you have been on a 500-calorie diet for weeks now. Do NOT go
crazy and start eating 2500 calories on the 1st day. Sneak up to it.
Calculate your calorie limit:
Women, this equates to 11 times your current weight
Men,
this equates to 12 times your current weight
Example: For a woman whose current weight is 150 lbs, multiplied times 11
is 1650 calories a day.
Example: For a man whose current weight is 200, multiplied times 12 is 2400
calories a day.
The Maintenance Diet, weeks 1-3:
Week 1
For week 1 after your 500 calorie diet, work your way up to about
800-1000 calories a day. Remember no sugar, starches and low carbohydrates.
Yes, you can eat fats during this time, but don't over do it.
It is still very important to continue to drink lots of water.

You can now eat 3+ meals a day and use butter oil or cooking spray in your
frying pan, just use it sparingly!
Your protein intake will increase to about 6-8 oz per meal or up to 600
Calories per day.
Your salad can now be a mixture of all your favorite things that you want in the
salad, just no sugars, and starches.
Try to eat a little at each meal and try to get in a mid morning and mid
afternoon snack.
Week 2 - For week 2, increase your daily calorie count to about 1000-1500
calories per day. Do this by adding in more veggies. Maybe some soups, cheese,
peanut butter, nuts and other low carbohydrate type foods.
Week 3 - For week 3, work your way up to your total calorie limit. You should
be eating 5 or 6 little meals a day.
The Maintenance Diet, weeks 4-6:
This is the final phase where you begin to add starches and sugars back into
your diet. Technically nothing is off limits anymore. It is best not to resume any
old eating habits that led to weight gain in the first place, but you may eat what
you would like. The best rule to follow is “everything in moderation.”
Sugars and Starches (the carbohydrates) SLOWLY VERY SLOWLY add
back sugars and starches. Reintroduce these too fast, and you may have a
weight gain. So to avoid that, this is what we have learned. ADD them
SLOWLY!

Week 4 - For week 4, add one carbohydrate food that you missed the most.
Eat bread, pasta, potato or whatever, but just one. The next day, stop that one
and add another one. Do not eat two carb foods in the same day during week
4. Only eat one carb food per meal. Just change your carbohydrate from day to
day. Weigh yourself the next day and see if there are any weight changes. If so,
try cutting the portion in half for the next time.
Week 5 - For week 5, combine two carb foods in the same day, but not at
the same meal. For instance, you may eat bread with a sandwich for lunch and
a potato for dinner.
Week 6 - For week 6, start combining the carbs during the same meal, but
do this one day at a time. By the end of week 6, you should be eating a good,
healthy, well rounded, high fiber, lower fat, diet within your calorie limit without
worrying about gaining weight!
Avoid over-eating; (stay within your calorie limit) avoid eating both a high fat
and high carb meal. You may get away with a high fat meal or a high carb meal
but high fat and high carb together are a bad combination.
WARNING: If your morning weight is more than 2lbs over your
last HCG date weight (the last day you took HCG), you do a
Steak Day. A Steak Day is where you eat nothing all day (but
drink plenty of water, coffee, and/or tea). Then, for your
evening meal, you eat a huge steak (8-14 oz) followed by an
apple or a raw tomato. This should put you back down 2-5 lbs
and get you back in your “range”. If you go more than 2
pounds under weight, eat a forth meal that day. (Still no sugars
and starches)

The most Common Errors During Phase III
Eating sugars and starches. Some fruits are very high in sugar (bananas,
grapes, melons, pineapple). Some vegetables are very high in starch
(potatoes, corn, peas, black, pinto and lima beans). Your weight may
fluctuate due to getting unintentional sugar and starch in what you are
eating.
This stage is to train your body how to burn as many calories as possible
and maintain the new lower weight. Your body no longer has the HCG and
needs many more calories and will set the calorie count to what you are
eating. So if you are only eating 1000 calories per day that will be what
your body sets as its requirement. Then if you eat over that one day you
will put on fat.
Not enough eating protein.
Tips to Conquer Phase III







Keep an accurate food journal
Eat organic fruits vegetables chicken and meat when possible
Avoid all processed foods, canned fruits or vegetables
Limit eating out in restaurants
Try to include a protein with whatever you are eating throughout the
day.
Avoid food and drinks that have ingredients you do not recognize or
cannot pronounce.
Continue to drink a lot of water. It is good for you and helps your
body function efficiently. (1/2 to 1 Gallon per day)








Increase water intake
Add green tea once or twice a day
Do an Apple Day if stuck for greater than 5 days
Check all condiments for sugar, High fructose corn syrup, fructose

minutes a day.
Menstrual cycle may affect the rate of weight loss and cause a
plateau.
EXTRAS
Personal Care Products
You need to be cautious about which beauty products you use while on the
HCG diet. Oils, fats, ointments, and creams can actually hamper efforts to
lose unwanted body fat. These products may be good for your skin and
keep your skin shiny and moist however these oil containing products will
fat burning process and cause you to stall. The fats in the beauty products
have negative affects on weight loss during the HCG diet. The absorption
of the oils and fats in beauty products is considered the equivalent to eating
fatty foods. This just goes to show that the HCG process needs to be
executed with extreme precision. The fact that your body reacts so
sensitively to beauty products means it is critical that specific lotions,
cleansers, and cosmetics be eliminated.

Despite the fact that certain types of cosmetics cannot be used, there is an
approved list of products that do not consist of fats, oils, ointments or
creams. This includes face moisturizers, facial cleaners, eye make-up
remover, foundations, shadows, blushes, body lotions and even lips gloss.
Following is a list of replacement options for the products normally used.
Lotions: Most Baby oil, Coconut oil, and plain mineral oil (has no nutritional
value). Essentially look for lotions with a mineral oil bases.
Soaps: Baking soda, Zest, Ivory and Dial, Jasons, Baking Soda
Face Soaps and makeup removers: Jasons products
Shampoo and Conditioner: Baking soda, Natures Gate Alovera, Aubrey
Organics, Life Extension Products
Toothpaste: Baking soda, spry toothpaste, Tom's toothpaste
Deodorants: Crystal deodorant (wet crystal and apply), baking soda
I do want to point out that there is another point of view on personal care
products being used during the HCG Diet. What does modern medicine
have to say about this concept 60 years later? When a moisturizer, cream,
lotion or sunscreen is applied to the skin, there is ready absorption into the
epidermis (the outer layer of skin). Most of the absorption is limited to the
outer layer we call the stratum corneum (or horny layer). This layer is in a
continuous process of shedding off, as new skin cells form. Very little “oil”
such as mineral oil has the ability to penetrate deeper. The result is that
these oils are not absorbed into the body, and do not add caloric energy for
the body to use. Active ingredients in skin care products such as chemical
sun blocks, AHA’s and BHA’s do have the ability to penetrate to the deeper
epidermis and outer dermis, but they do not provide nutritional energy or
calories to the body. So use sun blocks and you may continue using oil
based products unless you plateau then you must stop using oil based
products.

Exercise
Dr. Simeon’s weight loss program does not rely on exercise for weight
reduction.
However, the only exercise recommended during the program is walking.
If you are already engaged in daily exercise before starting the program,
you may continue, but you may need to increase your daily intake to
750 calories to prevent fatigue .
Constipation
According to Dr. Simeons, it is normal to go 2-4 days without a bowel movement
while on HCG, due to the lack of food and bulk going through your system. If you
experience Constipation you can try taking a Magnesium supplement Or an
hebal laxative or Smooth Tea.
Time of the Month
Women CAN take the Homeopathic drops during their period. But it is best not to
start the protocol during your period.
Weigh INs



You must weigh yourself every morning after your first void and keep a log.
Weight loss occurs in a stair step fashion. You will drop then plateau.
During the plateau phase, patients will still be losing inches. Usually the
plateau does not last more than a week and may coincide with the onset of
menstruation in women.
Take your measurements at the beginning of the diet and write them down.
Measure yourself again periodically through your diet. You will find all the
necessary logs in the measurement section of this manual.
